Senior Security Engineer – Cyber Security

Job Purpose

RMG Cyber Security Operations primary functions are to protect information assets and detect, analyse and respond to security information and events. In support of these objectives, RMG Cyber Security Operations are looking to augment their existing team through the addition of a Senior Security Engineer whose primary functions will be to:

  • Lead and oversee the maintenance and development of key security technologies that provide protective, detective, and analytical capabilities across RMG’s technology estate.
  • Provide senior Information security technical SME expertise to ensure successful delivery and information security project workstreams into the BAU Cyber Security Operations function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Cyber Security Operations. Working under the direction and guidance of the Head of Security Engineering and following the Security Engineering strategy, maintain and develop key security technologies within the RMG estate to ensure that the Cyber Security Operations team have optimized, accurate access to the required toolsets and information.
  • Technology. Working closely with Head of Security Engineering, security architects and technology operations teams to ensure the correct operation, and optimal configuration of supporting security technologies.
  • Value. Lead technical teams to enable and develop appropriate levels of protection and logging from new and existing security technologies, maximizing their value to the Cyber Security Operations team.
  • Reporting. Deliver and present appropriate KPI, KRI and other requisite reporting to the Heads of Security Engineering and Cyber Security Operations and act as an SME for projects and initiatives relevant to the role.
  • Stakeholder Management. Work closely with RMG technology teams, providing guidance and direction to ensure the correct placement, maintenance and support of security technologies relevant to the role. Build professional relationships to ensure cooperation between stakeholders and Cyber Security Operations.
  • Supplier Management. Lead and direct third-party suppliers to ensure that delivery, maintenance and support of security technologies is provided effectively and within project timescales and service level agreements.

  • Influencing Skills and judgement. Strong leadership, influencing and negotiating skills to build trust\confidence, and using judgement to make risk based recommendations and decisions within parameters.

    • Assisting in the preparation of relevant finance information for the accounts department and the year end requirements.
    • Assisting in the provision of information/data for the MD and management team to assist in strategic decisions.
    • To assist in the maintenance of master date on SAP; for example, materials, pricing, pricing & forecasting.
    • To assist with IT problem solving where required.
    • Any other tasks required by the company.
