Web Developer

Our client is one of the leading web design and development agencies in the South East. They are currently looking for an experienced Web Developer to join their team at the head office based in St Leonards on Sea.

As a Web Developer you will be creating attractive and engaging user experiences for a wide range of local, national and international clients, alongside the companies’ in-house production team. You will be generating and implementing new ideas for user interaction, navigation and animation across a range of sites including Wordpress and Drupal. The ideal Web Developer will have demonstrable experience within a commercial web environment; have a strong knowledge of responsive frameworks as well as a keen interest in the latest techniques.

The ideal Web Developer will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Possess great CSS, JavaScript and JQuery Skills
  • Strong knowledge of responsive frameworks like bootstrap

  • Excellent communication skills (face to face, telephone and email)

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Solid understanding of web standards and accessibility

Your duties as a Web Developer will include:

  • Creating interactions and effects for websites including parallax, Javascript, JQuery and Bootstrap/other libraries, using CSS supplied
  • Style dashboards and user interfaces for database driven systems to enable ease of use and navigation
  • Ensuring full responsive coding for all sites produced and ensure most appropriate display for tablets, smartphones and desktop
  • Collaborating with other team members to test and implement new animation effects and interactive elements
  • Carrying out updates for existing supported client sites and add new elements or periodical promotional features to catch user attention
  • Creating client accounts for hosting, email and Google Analytics using our existing systems in accordance with company procedure
  • Reviewing and optimise client sites for maximum search engine visibility
  • Providing occasional technical support to existing clients by telephone and email
  • Installing CMS for new sites using Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal or similar
  • Checking and verifying contributions from junior team members to ensure Company policy and process have been applied and standards maintained

The position will be to provide Database administrative support, training, project planning, data quality and system support to the Care teams to a high standard and in a timely manner. Work with Data Team colleagues to develop and evolve the Care Data System knowledge and support. Document new and update existing Business processes to support training and system support.

The Care Data & Systems Officer Duties:

  • To provide system support to the Hospice Care teams and other departments when required.
  • To work flexibly, within the Data Team, share knowledge and support in order to retain the integrity of data across the organisation.
  • Ensure data quality control and maintain up-to-date records according to the client's policies and procedures, using the appropriate technology.
  • Oversee, respond to and resolve system helpdesk issues.
  • Take responsibility and accountability for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined timescales.
  • Develop and maintain system user guides and business process maps.
  • Maintain and generate system reports as requested.
  • Develop and maintain databases for use across the hospices.

  • Prepare and deliver training to internal and external users. This will include travel across the region and include some planned flexible working outside of normal office hours.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues, external professionals and system developers.
  • Provide mentorship and support to colleagues, trainees and apprentices as required.
