Problem Analyst - Greater Manchester - £30k

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Problem Analyst to join a highly successful, growing organisation.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Problem Analyst will be responsible for championing the Problem Management process across both IT delivery teams and the business demonstrating the value it delivers.

The Problem Analyst should be a self-motivated individual with a good understanding of complex technical environments and the technologies used. Demonstrating excellent trend analysis and analytical skills, problem solving with tenacity to own and drive problems and known errors through to resolution. The Problem Analyst will provide relevant management information as and when required, escalating high impact problems when they arise.

Essential skills/experience:

  • 2+ years working in a service support environment with significant exposure to Incident and Problem Management processes
  • Experience of working in an ITIL environment, understanding how the end to end processes work across the organisation
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills
  • Experience of service desk software in particular in relation to ITIL processes
  • Ability to effectively identifyproblems, knownerrors, and workarounds
  • Ability to identify and presentsolutions and workarounds for problems identified both proactively and reactively
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly and accuratelyrespond to reactive problems ensuring that the most appropriate course of action is taken
  • Strong technical (infrastructure, network & application) background. The ability to understand and unpick extremely complex technical environments.
  • Excellent analytical and statisticalanalysis skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel & SQL

Desirable skills/experience:

  • An appreciation of ERPsolutions, standards, tools and techniques
  • Experience in a retail environment
