Job Description Summary

The Technology Strategy Analyst is a crucial part of a team which is responsible for leading research into significant strategic projects across the Firm, working in a specialist advisory role with the CTO and Exec team, other partners in management roles, the COO, and Business Teams Heads of Function. Specifically, the Technology Strategy Analyst undertakes quantitative and qualitative research regarding how the right strategy (including emerging tech) can enhance Technology & Engineering’s ability to deliver the strategic ambitions of our business units, leap frog our competitors and respond to drivers effecting the external market for premium wealth services.
The role requires a strong strategy and consulting background, specialist skills, a global outlook, and the ability to interact, challenge and influence credibly at senior levels in the Firm. Prior experience or knowledge of financial services organisations and the wealth/asset management industry are advantageous but not essential.
We are looking for a Technology Strategy Analyst with a background in Fintech/technology strategy / research/ Innovation to identify, produce strategy papers and assess the potential impact now and over 3/5 years of emerging technology themes such as Digital/Artificial Intelligence / AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and
Blockchain which will combine with excellent analytical and communication skills to work closely with stakeholders and often present findings as required. The role is based in London or Leeds to work within their high profile Technology & Engineering team.
You will use the insights you gain to understand business problems, challenge existing practices and approaches, and support the implementation and development of innovative solutions to ensure that Schroders Personal Wealth meets the needs of its colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
Job Description
Requirements Elicitation: Manages business engagement to understand, challenge and document underlying business needs, translating these into project scope, objectives and business goals.
Requirements Development: Designs and facilitates business need & Innovation workshops to analyse, define and prioritize requirements, challenging thinking and agreeing outcomes to ensure robust requirements development and approval.
Requirements Management: Defines and manages the documentation of business requirements and prepares business case underpinning solution options.
Solution Assessment & Validation: Understands and articulates the effect of proposed solutions, creating accurate and detailed as-is and to-be business models incorporating process and benefit analysis, people and customer impact assessment as appropriate. Develops plans and communications to support implementation.
Consultancy Advice & Domain Knowledge: Maintains good knowledge of business and technology areas, providing analysis insight for ad hoc queries, consulting requests, independent reviews and management of quality assurance activity.
A proven background in writing technology strategy documents or technology centric research
Research experience / knowledge of themes such as Fintech/Artificial Intelligence / AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security
Good understanding of business planning and strategy development approaches
