Reporting directly to the COO and VP of Product, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Visualise front-end prototype concepts to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and test ideas
  • Hands on delivery of concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, system maps, user flows, wireframes, visual design comps, and prototypes with Sketch, Adobe CS, InVision, and other tools
  • Conduct user research and provide recommendations in both written and visual format. Communicate the product’s vision and articulate design decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders both verbally and visually
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams including the COO, VP of Product, marketing and business development and set expectations and estimate time and delivery of UX/UI components with an agile mindset

Essential Requirements:

  • Portfolio of design projects
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Sketch, Wireframe.cc and InVision)
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
  • A strong knowledge of user experience and prototyping is needed.

Harvey Nash are exclusively representing a innovative technology player based in Cheshire, who as part of their continued growth they are looking to bring in an Interim Software Development Director to join the existing team and work on and across a market leading set of products/applications. The business has historically grown rapidly and as such find themselves in a position of multiple tech stack, so need a Software Development Director to help develop a unified tech stack across multiple countries

The client is looking for someone who can understand the complexity of estates, but can move the business to a unified platform. Someone who understands a variety of technologies would suit this assignment, but also someone who can pull teams together and drive plan forward.

Tech Stack: It's a beautiful mix of Microsoft stack technology; .NET (inc Core), C#, APIs, SQL Server and a little bit of Python. The business operates in true Agile form with modern software development techniques including Microservices, cloud development/computing, SOLID and much, much more.

The Person: A confident and technical leader who hasn't stepped too far away from technology is the ideal fit for this role, someone who keeps their finger on the pulse of technology. Experience working in a variety of tech stacks across a multitude of devices would be hugely beneficial as nothing is off the table, you have the chance to really take the tech stack by the scruff of the neck; ideally you'll have an understanding of Big Data products such as Hadoop.

The initial engagement will be for 6 months with the view to extend thereafter.

Ideally you'll have strong experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and pushing back. Because you know that sometimes people ask things that aren't possible. You'll have strong Power BI and SQL experience, and an interest in cloud technologies and Big Data. It would be even better if this was experience was centred around HR, finance and business operations data. You'll be comfortable providing technical direction and advice to others and taking the lead on BI projects.

In return you'll get to work on a multi-organisational integration project and get exposure to Azure cloud services. You'll also be offered relevant training courses and be able to work from home for a few days a week once settled.

* Lead and coach a team of onshore and offshore engineers to deliver solutions for the global business
