As an Application Specialist, you are expected to take ownership and accountability for critical client infrastructure, environment & installation activities, ensuring completion in accordance with either the Project or Client Request.

Your Qualities:
Working predominantly with internal and external stakeholders to install and maintain the businesses solutions, key qualities required include:

  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently and diplomatically at all levels
  • Able to work under pressure, managing numerous tasks simultaneously whilst adhering to strict timescales.
  • Ability to maintain successful and productive long term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and be prepared to challenge the norm
  • Strong administration skills and analytical skills that can be put to good use in support of positive decision making
  • Must be willing to travel to client sites as required

Role Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Undertake and/or support the installation, configuration and management of the company Foundation and Accord Products and any supporting software.
  • Work with the internal infrastructure team to ensure the pre-requisite technical environments are in place and appropriate.
  • Provide technical ownership through to resolution for any infrastructure / environment issues that may occur in relation to a client implementation
  • Work with clients and the wider business team to identify, design and estimate the infrastructure component of proposed solutions
  • Undertake ongoing management and maintenance of business hosted client solutions, encompassing:

-Capacity Management
-Client availability reporting
-Backup success
-SQL and IIS Security Hardening
-SQL administration

  • Provide technical ownership through to resolution of assigned support tickets, ensuring agreed client SLA's are met. This includes appropriate Incident Management activities.
  • Identify critical areas of improvement for hosted client solutions, undertaking formal initiation/ approval processes and pending approval undertake/ facilitate the required changes in accordance with an agreed plan
  • Provide training on the company products technical setup to small 'focused' client audiences
  • Author high quality technical documentation that supports all activities
  • Support the uplift of infrastructure / technical environment knowledge within the wider service delivery teams.
  • Continual review and enhancement of the business processes and procedures with a focus on quality and 'do it once, do it right'
  • Support and develop the positive team working culture within projects
  • Undertake administrative tasks as required as part of your day to day activities

Your Experience:

  • 5 years plus experience in a professional services / IT environment with applied knowledge of software lifecycle principles and methodologies
  • A good understanding of the key technologies underpinning the businesses solutions, specifically: Windows IIS and MS SQL
  • Experienced in Database Administration for SQL Server activities
  • Some experience in automated deployment technologies e.g. Octopus, preferred
  • Degree relevant to the role preferred
  • Strong documentation skills using the appropriate tools
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
