We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Homeworks Team at Yorkshire Housing.  We are looking for a colleague who will be an integral part of the Homeworks Team - you will have demonstrable experience undertaking data mining & will help the team to deliver key strategic aims and be an expert in gathering and analysing Business Information across different platforms/information sources such as SQL Excel, Qlikiew & Tableau. You will be able to work flexibly & juggle differing priorities at a fast pace, to ensure reports are delivered on time and provide insight to drive improvements.

Key duties include:  

  • Produce performance reports, monitor trends and undertake cost analysis to ensure effective, value for money in supply chains & in the management of sub-contractors. 
  • Inspire & support colleagues to use reports and dashboards, enabling the Homeworks service areas to operate efficiently, effectively and achieve strategic objectives 
  • Be a subject matter expert in BI and dashboarding techniques & drive improvements in reporting data. 
  • Proactively manage the BI pipeline and produce specific action plans within a prioritised worklist approved by senior stakeholders. 
  • Work collaboratively across all departments to identify & improve process/service improvements 
  • Create technical and user-facing documentation for all aspects of business intelligence and for Homeworks mobile IT systems 

 

What can you expect:

 

We offer a salary of £35,577 per annum  for a 35 hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays. We also have a reward package to suit everyone – from a variety of retail discounts to a contributory pension scheme where we will match your contributions up to 9%.  

 

This is a 12-month fixed term, full time (35 hours per week) role based in our Head Office in Leeds but also across the Yorkshire region. The closing date for applications will be 15th March 2020 and interviews will take place on 20th March 2020.?

What will I be doing?

In this Senior Engineer role, we are looking for self-motivated individuals who will be responsible for...

  • crafting and building online software applications
  • working collaboratively within a product delivery team and taking responsibility for developing high-quality code, embracing and ensuring best practice, while looking for new and improved approaches to technical challenges
  • leading the creation of designs and solutions for products across the digital estate, perhaps with very little upfront information

What are we looking for?

We are looking for full-stack software engineers with a strong understanding of JavaScript, with the ability to adapt those skills to new libraries and frameworks. Equally, all applicants will be expected to evidence that they can write clean, readable and properly tested code based on tried and tested design patterns. More advanced senior level candidates would ideally have experience building single page applications using the React ecosystem, will have experience with REST APIs and may have experience with Node.js in the backend. Experience of cloud-native architecture is highly desirable and any knowledge of AWS services, various SQL and noSQL databases, as well as queues such as SQS and other backend components, are a definite advantage. Experience of running critical services in production is also highly desirable.

As a Senior Developer, you’ll be capturing the requirements and design, build & deliver risk and stress reporting systems focusing on C#.


What will you be doing?


Writing code to specification for one or more applications / products during the build phase of the software development lifecycle focusing on C#
Testing the code thoroughly and liaise with business users to ensure delivery is fit for purpose
Working directly with stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements both near-term and strategic
Validating the technical design meets the business requirements
