The Role

As the Developer, you will create quality, manageable, high performing code, and participate in cross functional workshops, working with the business, design and product to identify proportional technology solutions to address the business need.

In the candidate we are looking for…

  • Previous experience of developing solutions on the Umbraco platform
  • Ensure that coding standards are defined and adhered to
  • Create robust best practise development techniques
  • Ensure code is delivered to a high quality, functioning to acceptance criteria across all required devices
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements are considered including performance and accessibility considerations
  • Optimise the performance of the code
  • Perform code reviews with junior developers
  • Setup and manage personal development environments
  • Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to ensure smooth handover of code and ongoing maintenance
  • Work closely with the architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural strategy

The minimum required skills are:

Excellent knowledge of Windows Desktop / Server and Linux including Builds, Installs and Troubleshooting with at least 2+ years Scripting and some knowledge of Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase)

Candidates with the right core Technical skills and NO previous Financial experience will be considered offering a superb opportunity to gain some invaluable Financial / Banking experience.

Preferred candidates will have some Trade Floor Support - supporting Financial Trading Applications / Market Data Systems in a mixed Linux (any of RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu, CENTOS, SuSE, Solaris) and Windows environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong Linux Systems Administration (4/5+ years) with at least 3 years Scripting … Python, Bash, Perl, R … along with a strong understanding of Database Architecture - SQL Server / Oracle and some experience of FIX connectivity / Client On-boarding and troubleshooting.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent Knowledge of Windows Desktop - 7/8/10.
  • Windows Server / Active Directory - 2008/12/16.
  • Strong Linux System Administration - Any Of: RedHat, Ubuntu, CENTOS, SuSE, Debian.

  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.

As a Client Support Manager you will split your time between support and consultancy; you will be responsible for planning, configuring, installing and rolling-out advanced web based systems that run on the Microsoft platform and providing 2nd / 3rd line support ensuring that high-level technical consultancy is provided to a mercilessly quality conscious client base.

You'll build strong client relationships partnering with them through the full project lifecycle and be the primary point of contact. Responsibilities as a Client Support Manager will encompass project management of large multi-dimensional projects; onsite and remote installation, configuration and support of enterprise software; training clients on installation, running technical workshops and architecting bespoke solutions. You'll become a product expert and provide pre-sales support to professional services consultants and sales teams including managing the RFI / RFP responses.

You will be based in Reigate in modern, open plan offices within a five minute walk of the station; there's a smart casual dress code and a good work / life balance. Travel to client sites is required, usually within London and South East but with opportunities for global travel every six months.

Requirements:

*Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to understand, explain and develop complex IT architectures and produce clear, concise documentation
*Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills with a logical mindset and meticulous attention to detail
