Mulesoft / Java Developer

Permanent - London based paying up to £80,000 base

I am looking for a Senior Java Developer, preferably with experience in the financial services sector. The role is responsible for providing development expertise as a member of the integration software development team tasked with implementing the integration layer for a new Digital and Mobile Banking platform.

The technologies will concentrate on the Middleware integration layer currently being developed in Mulesoft (ESB) with integrations including Vasco Identikey, Threatmetrix and BehavioSec.

The Senior Java Developer will play a crucial role in the delivery of this digital programme, ensuring that all elements of implementation are appropriately developed and are in line with the development teams standards.

The Senior Java Developer will need to have a strong development background and will have a thorough understanding of web API & REST development best practices and delivery principles.

Background and experience necessary:

Significant experience of in-house development, predominantly within a Java based development environment

Working in a fast paced, software delivery focussed Java Development team, within a financial services environment

Good understanding of traditional and agile development/project methodologies

Strong working knowledge of integration frameworks, specifically;

Java Development using the following technologies:

  • Understanding of database related technologies and SQL
  • Unit and integration testing with particular emphasis on testing frameworks:
    • JUnit & MUnit
    • Cucumber / JBehave
    • ESB / Mule
    • MQ

Background and experience desired:

Strong experience in financial services platforms and environments

Strong technical experience of web based portals within a Java container, using continuous build and integration technologies such as Jenkins and/or Team City

Experience with ESB models and messaging technologies, ideally MuleSoft

Supporting technologies such as Vasco Identikey, ThreatMetrix, BehavioSec, IBM Websphere MQ and data structures in SQL platform

A good knowledge of utilising source control and build technologies including Git, Artifactory, Maven for continuous build, test automation, package management, source control and management of solutions

  • Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux operating systems (installation, configuration, patching)
