Your opportunity
This role at Deloitte Monitor Deloitte’s Business Design team - ranked #1 globally by both Kennedy Research and Forrester - combines the robust research and analysis of traditional strategy consulting with the creativity and lean approaches deployed by the start-up community to help businesses design and implement new strategies to compete and win in the digital economy. As a member of our practice you will work closely with senior executives in the public and private sectors on the creation of these strategies, along with a portfolio of initiatives which will enable them to deliver them in rapidly changing markets.
We focus on delivering sustainable value for our clients and our projects address the most pressing strategic issues in business today. Although all of our projects are different, we commonly answer strategic questions including:
• What is our company’s aspiration and purpose within the digital economy?
• How do I align the leaders in my business around this?
• How do I structure my business to drive growth and innovation in this context?
• How to I anticipate and respond to disruption in my industry?
• How and when should I invest in digital?
Our recent engagements include:
• Developing a new commercial proposition for a global fashion brand, looking to optimise sales and engagement through digital
• Developing a digital strategy for a leading consumer electronics brand looking to grow internationally across three continents using digital
• Launching a digital venture for a global technology brand looking to enter the health market in the UK
• Working with a major transport organisation to refocus and improve the way digital services are delivered, including demonstrating how this can be achieved through prototyping and agile principles
• Developing the digital strategy and investment priorities for one of the largest UK County Councils, to facilitate end-to-end redesign of service delivery
• Establishing the Deloitte Incubator, a programme to invest and grow new start-up businesses

Your role If you are an experienced Digital Strategy Engagement Manager, we can offer you an unrivalled opportunity to accelerate your career in a fast-growing and unique part of our global team. You will have the opportunity to leverage a rich portfolio of techniques and intellectual property that Monitor Deloitte has built up over fifteen years of work in Digital Strategy to advise some of the world’s largest businesses on some of their most pressing challenges.
The Business Design team is also a vehicle for testing innovative ways of working, combining classical strategy techniques with collaborative, creative methods to generate and rapidly test innovative business concepts. We encourage extensive collaboration across our team and clients, as well as creative thinking to support our rigorous research and analysis.
An Engagement Manager is responsible for driving client relationships, leading engagement delivery and managing project financials.
Responsibilities: • Building and developing client relationships: working with stakeholders from across Deloitte to identify sales opportunities, develop proposals and build distinctive, enduring, client relationships
• Running engagements: independently leading engagements from scoping through delivery by managing engagement teams and working with Deloitte Partners and other internal teams (e.g. Technology, Deloitte Digital, Economic Consulting) to help clients solve their most significant strategic challenges
• Developing strategy: working with engagement teams to develop and test strategic hypotheses
• Facilitating workshops: leading collaborative strategy development sessions with clients, using proven Monitor Deloitte IP and methodologies
• Developing our people: mentoring junior colleagues, helping them to build technical as well as soft skills and coaching them to achieve their career aspirations
• Contributing to thought leadership: developing and socialising Digital Strategy’s methods, IP and research agenda

Location: London with occasional domestic and international travel. Your home office will be London, but this client-facing role provides lots of opportunity for travel in the UK and overseas.
Work pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.
Your professional experience • Extensive experience in a Strategy Consulting or Innovation firm, or in a strategic role in industry
• Demonstrated experience leading client engagements
• Extensive understanding of the impact of digital on business models
• Outstanding ability to understand markets and structure analysis
• Understanding of operating model design and culture change
• Flexibility to adapt to and master Monitor Deloitte methods (e.g. Choice Structuring, Venture Path and Doblin Innovation)
• Using the above, demonstrate the ability to lead winning client bids
Additional desirable experience includes:
• Experience in establishing and running digital ventures
• A digital presence that demonstrates your familiarity with the domain
