Your new company
Is looking for a Data Engineer so they can continue in their efforts of being a global food and beverage powerhouse. They represent over $30 billion in revenue and are within the top 10 largest food and beverage company in the world. They need a Data Engineer to work with their customers on the release of several analytics products.

Your new role
As a Data Engineer you will need to have experience using big data tools within a cloud infrastructure (GCP) it is equally important for you to work with key stakeholders and customers who may be technical and non-technical. The director is willing to groom you to a Lead Data Engineer but you must show a keen interest in learning, be passionate about data and driving commercial value out of data

What you'll need to succeed

  • An understanding of Hadoop is critical;
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including the IT Service Delivery and Global Business Services organizations to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data needs.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in their Hadoop data systems.
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.

You should also have the following technical skills

  • Big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka are crucial to being a success in this role.
  • Relational SQL and NoSQL databases;
  • Data pipeline and workflow management tools;
  • Stream-processing systems;
  • Object-oriented/object function scripting languages;
  • Text processing scripting languages;
  • REST API Pipelines for data extraction;
  • DevOps tools.
