NAV Developer (2 days in office, 3 at home) – Stoke/Staffordshire

My client are market leaders in Vehicle refurbishment working with some of the largest fleets and vehicle manufacturers in the world. Their highly trained teams are experts in all aspects of the technical services process, including collection and vehicle appraisal, refurbishment, storage, loose-item management and vehicle imagery. With 5 sites across the UK and their constant investment in new technology, not only do they stay at the forefront of the refurbishment industry, they are continually growing

Duties/Description

Substantial experience as a software developer specifically working with NAV C/SIDE C/AL development language SQL Experience Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD) experience.

The role in Staffordshire can be based in the office for 2 days and then can work for 3 days at home. The NAV Developer’s primary responsibility is to carry out all configuration and development activities to the company’s Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. In addition to this, you will be required to analyse and contribute to functional specifications provided by business users and produce technical specifications in line with customers, with additional activities using SQL and .NET, and creating integrations to Dynamics NAV

  • Configure, develop and deliver MS Dynamics NAV software and components in all functional areas
  • Create/modify existing customisations and integrations as requested by the business
  • Debug system problems, design and implement resolutions
  • Installation and implementation of service packs and hot fixes as needed
  • Technical liaison to business groups for application support
  • Support and drive process change and communication in line with NAV best practice
  • Assist with functional specifications of customisations and integrations required for NAV implementations
  • Provide 3rd level support to Service Desk
  • Assist in training junior team members
  • Work with key stakeholders in the business to gather application requirements and provide estimates
  • Take responsibility for delivering development tasks within agreed timelines
  • Coordinate and contribute to end-user training including development of system documentation and training materials
  • Creation of technical documentation for all customisations and integrations
  • Any other tasks as reasonably required

Skills and Experience

  • Substantial experience as a software developer specifically working with NAV C/SIDE C/AL development language
  • SQL Experience
  • Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD) experience
  • Experience with integration through Restful API's/Web Services
  • Ability to document code customisations and integrations in compliance with established standards and practices
  • Ability to debug errors efficiently and effectively
  • Experience of working within an agile and flexible working environment
  • Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously within agreed timescales
  • Capable of testing one’s own work and deliver working products that meet the needs of the business
  • Exceptional customer service skills, follows up with key stakeholders and team members, and takes Initiative to anticipate and solve problems
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with a minimum of supervision
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business and to adapt your style and technical approach as required

  • Establish architectural standards that enable DevOps practices with infrastructure as code and automated continuous integration and continuous deployment

  • EU passport is required to be eligible to work in Spain
  • Minimum of 10 years of architecture and IT operations experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of database management and software development/coding experience.
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructure on AWS for small, medium, and enterprise scale applications.
  • AWS Certified Architect and/or Developer; Associate considered, Professional preferred
  • Full understanding of .NET development is essential
  • Hands-on experience with cloud adoption and migration from assessment through cloud native implementation
  • Technical knowledge of infrastructure components (network, storage, Linux, Windows), security and application development (e.g., Microsoft .NET Framework/Core, C#, and SQL Server experience preferred)
  • Experience implementing AWS Serverless and managed services for applications and APIs including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, and Elastic Beanstalk preferred. Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS) a plus.
