This organisation is a specialist manufacturing company involved in direct marketing and warehousing. The Head of Development is championing an increase in the use of technology in the business and to support this strategy they are looking to recruit an additional Junior Developer for their head office in Poole. You'll be working with three other web developers and working in close proximity with the wider digital marketing team.

Your new role
You will be working on a variety of projects to support the companies online business streams which include a portfolio of over 30 eCommerce websites. The company are increasing the use of Magento for new builds so experience here will help facilitate this, legacy sites are run on PHP/Laravel, so equally some experience with this will be advantageous. We anticipate the role being 50% new build and 50% existing project work. The role will involve general Back-end AND front-end web development, deploying code to various environments, bug fixing and helping solve problems, and assisting web designers with their code implementation.

The role requires a commercial mind and you will be expected to learn the company’s product suite. The company encourages developers to bring new ideas to the table and as part of a small team you will be given a lot of responsibility and can shape your role moving forward

What you'll need to succeed
As an entry level position, training will be provided but experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage:

  • PHP (OOP) within a Magento 2 or Laravel context)
  • HTML / CSS
  • Node
  • Fabric / Angular / Vue,js
  • JavaScript
  • Laravel 4.5/5
  • Magento 2
  • GIT Source Control
  • PHP Storm / Visual Studio Code
  • MS SQL Server / MySQL Workbench
