Data Engineer

Description

Our client is a European leader developing software for self-driving vehicles.

They’re a fast growing team unified by our goal to deliver level 5 autonomy, having trialled in a major London project last Autumn 2019, they’re solving interesting and difficult problems to service millions of people daily.

What you will do: 

  • You will be part of a multi-sited, multidisciplinary team who work closely with our Research Scientists and Engineers 
  • Develop production scale software to support statistical models for perception.
  • Work with large-scale image and video datasets, develop software/models that will be used in various parts of our simulation pipeline.

Requirements

Your experience:

  • You have previously built and deployed ETL workflows for continuous data delivery to model training infrastructure making sure it is robust and scalable
  • You are comfortable interacting with large datasets
  • Enhance data collection and data processing methodologies
  • Collaborate with the other team members who use various machine learning methods to build statistical models
  • Follow software engineering standards: testing for robustness, source control, data integrity verification and anomaly detection, debugging, code review, continuous integration
  • You are an experienced programmer and are comfortable around build in languages 
  • Significant experience and strong skills in programming with a language such as Python, C++, or Scala
  • First or Upper Second class degree, or equivalent, in computer science, mathematics, engineering or physical sciences, with a strong mathematics content, from a top university (PhD would be a plus)
  • Highly motivated to solve real-world problems
  • Passionate about both what we are doing as well as how we are doing it

I am currently working with a Software Company in Milton Keynes who's software scans for inconsistencies in the manufacturing process in a variety of industries. Continued growth and a number of large project wins has led to them requiring a C# Developer to join the team.

The C# Developer will be responsible for the complete software development lifecycle from initial briefings from clients, design of software, development, testing and implementation on to client sites. The C# Developer will take full ownership working in a small but highly efficient team.

This position would suit a C# Developer who is creative, you need to have the ability to design and develop software for a system that has not been created yet, strong interest in the latest technologies and upskilling when needed, a passion for solving complex problems and comfortable liaising with clients both over the phone and onsite.

Key skills and attributes required:

- 3+ years experience in C# Development.

- Strong experience with Object Orientated Development.

- Experience with multithreading.

- Experience working on embedded projects.

- It would also be beneficial if you have an understanding of C++.

This is very much an embedded role, you need not apply if you are looking for a C# web based development role.
