Portsmouth, Hampshire
£53000 - £62000 + Excellent Benefits

This organisation cannot offer VISA sponsorship for candidates.

Your new company
This well-renowned organisation is looking to expand it’s in house development team and hire a Lead / Principal C# .Net Developer. You’ll be in a central location in Portsmouth, with direct transport links to most of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and London (1.5 hours away), working on projects that can genuinely make peoples life better.

Your new role
There’s great variety in the role and they’ve recently undergone a migration of the current web estate to .Net CORE 2 with a distinct focus on continuous delivery. This is the ‘new and shiny’ software team and the pipeline is bustling with other work to keep the team busy, many of which allow new tools/tech selected to suit the project in hand.

Day-to-day you’ll be split across hands-on coding and coaching/leading a small team of developers (though you don’t necessarily need this experience from day 1). You’ll have a good handle on project management and IT Delivery models and will build new features for their inward facing solutions. The work this team has delivered has been recognised across the business as an enabler for them to move forward.

The IT team is now 70+ strong. They champion AGILE and rapid application delivery without compromising quality. You should subscribe to the modern coding practices coined by Uncle Bob and will continuously look to stay at the sharp edge of technology.

It’s a professional working environment with a friendly and open culture where developers are treated well and are handed a high degree of responsibility.

What you'll need to succeed
As mentioned this is a rare opportunity to work hands-on to with Net CORE 2 but the organisation is understanding that candidates may not have this experience from day 1. The stack was Asp.Net MVC 5, VS2017 and SQL Server 2012.

You must be fluent with C# and have worked for years in an Asp.Net environment, ideally with MVC or Web Api and JavaScript. This will be supported by strong data exposure (SQL Server / T-SQL) and common .Net Tools like LINQ / EF.

Nice to haves include Angular / React / Knockout, testing experience (Unit/Integration), continuous integration, work on enterprise software designs and RestAPI.

What you'll get in return
There is a comprehensive benefits package centred around staff well-being (Pension, Gym, Healthcare, Sports Facilities, Cycle to Work). Work life balance is not an abstract culture here so flexible working is available and the career progression you will gain from these technologies, even on a fixed term basis, cannot be ignored.
