Here at Harrington Starr our client is a large asset manager based in the city. Their architecture is built upon a combination of best of breed vendor systems and in house developed applications that complement each other. It is the Integration Development Team that is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of these systems and the integration layer that allows these systems to communicate with each other. There is a large book of work from developing various custom solutions to integrating 3rd Party systems into their architecture.

The candidate will be involved in the full development life cycle, from business and technical analysis, design and development through to release. They will be exposed to the technical aspects of several systems, from underlying databases, through to services and UIs, developing in house applications to support all areas of the business.

As an Integration Team member, they will also become part of the technical decision-making team who constantly strive to optimise systems and work across the various development teams build an evolutionary architecture that can cope with the demands of today but also of the ever-increasing demands of the future.

Other duties and responsibilities include third line support and troubleshooting. 

What you will have:

  • C# / SQL are your predominant languages
  • Passionate about evolving technologies
  • We have a growing number of applications supported by .NET Core, you will be comfortable in maintaining existing applications and adding new features
  • This is a role that covers front and back end development and you should be comfortable doing both
  • Good SQL knowledge, you will be confident writing, debugging and running SQL queries
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

I've been engaged on a project to recruit a .Net specialist for a global energy provider who are based just outside the city centre of Glasgow. You'll be building their next generation of products as they look to set the standard of how to utilise cloud technologies within their industry.

Your new role

You will be developing enterprise business applications to define best practices. This role will give you exposure to web development, mobile development and MS Azure cloud environment.

You will be funded where necessary to undertake training courses. There is no red tape and the working environment is reactionary/Agile rather than rigid. The company is looking for hungry developers that are on an upward trajectory in their career.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have commercial experience working with Asp.Net, MVC and C#. .Net Core is the principal framework that they have adopted for their new work. You will have also worked with wider technologies such as Web Api's, SQL on the back end and HTML5, CSS and Angular on the front end. Knowledge of writing automated tests using NUint, XUnit and Selenium will also serve you well.

This team have adopted the DevOps pipeline and have a commitment to automation. You will be pushing CI / CD and will be working increasingly on the Azure platform.

Our client is a market-leading provider of trading platforms, risk systems, and other capital markets software products. They are looking to add to their growing sales team by taking on-board an experienced FinTech Sales Professional with a proven track record in selling risk management software to the Capital Markets (buy/sell sides).

Required:

  • 5-10 years of selling enterprise financial SaaS to capital markets (buy/sell sides), Hunter Mentality!!
  • Proven track record of exceeding a quarterly sales quota (quarterly based commission)
  • Having an extensive network of capital market contacts, specifically: T2 banks, brokers, FCM’s, Hedge Funds
  • Experience of selling across multi-asset classes
  • Experience with $250k+ deal sizes ($1mm quota annually), and a 6 month + sales cycle

Responsibilities:

  • Build a pipeline of new candidates in the buy/sell space within the Chicago market for their risk bases SaaS. (You will be given a small book upon inception)
  • Present live or remote product demonstrations to C-Suite clientele, for existing and prospective partners.
  • Work daily with the head of sales on new leads and pre-sales engineer on closing leads
  • Achieve/hit quarterly and annual revenue targets.
