Our client, a professional membership organisation, is recruiting a Head of IT to maintain existing systems and lead on future strategy. With a recent growth in users and a new facility, you will have overall responsibility for the continuous development of IT strategy, maximise utilisation and security and develop new applications. You will also manage a small but established and skilled support team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead for ICT matters and input into business plans and processes
  • Ensure the smooth operation of IT services (incl. network and infrastructure, cabling, computer hardware and peripherals, software, CRM database and telecoms)
  • Plan and implement new or additional ICT programmes (including central CRM) to meet future needs
  • Continuous development of IT strategy to meet needs, maximise utilisation and ensure the security of existing systems
  • Plan for systems security, availability, network management and business continuity
  • Manage, develop and motivate an effective ICT support team

Skills & Experience

  • Have a track record of delivering IT projects.
  • Proficient in overall IT and Communications infrastructure, networks, IT security, hardware.
  • Knowledge of complex applications, databases (SQL), web and server-based solutions, software as a service (SAAS) approaches.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft systems and software (including Office 365)
  • Possess the gravitas to define strategy and clearly communicate this to senior management team
  • Experience of working in an education, healthcare or charitable sector preferable
