Responsibilities of a Junior Developer (Mobile App Developer, iOS or Android):

  • Support the entire application life cycle (concept, design, test, release and support)

  • Design interfaces to improve user experience
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch
  • Troubleshoot, find bugs and offer appropriate solutions
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends

Requirements of a Junior Developer (Mobile App Developer, iOS or Android):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or relevant field; Masters will be appreciated
  • An in-depth knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Python or Kotlin
  • 12 months+ in a professional office setting
  • Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
  • An understanding of programming principles
  • Ability to perform in a team environment
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment is desired
  • Must be able to travel and live within the UK

FYI: Training will be held at the Headquarter in London but you will be assigned accross UK. This is a great opportunity as the successful candidate will receive 9 weeks of paid training before going live on projects with our clients.

What you will do:

You will work in a scaled agile environment to develop insurance solutions to brokers, third parties as well as direct to the public. Broadly, the role is to implement user stories into fantastic features, using your code craftsmanship skills. Helping you develop your craft and pass on this skill is equally important to us. You will work collaboratively, championing agile/scrum best practice focusing on continuous integration, delivery, whilst facilitating problem solving. It’s pretty fast paced here, we release software every 6 weeks, following an iteration of two, three weekly sprints. Automation is key part of what we do at CDL, you will use SOAP UI, Selenium to regroup and refactor, allowing quick changes to code, reducing duplication and improving maintainability.

You will promote development best practice, and work autonomously in a squad, driving product growth. We’re facing exciting growth at CDL, and continuous improvement is at heart of what we do.
