AWS Data Engineer - Central Manchester - Up to £60,000

I am currently working with an exciting data company within the Estate industry. This position is based in central Manchester, within a walk-able distance from the cities travel hub Piccadilly station. My client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong AWS experience, to join their current data team as they expand to prepare for future projects.

This client is an award winning data driven organisation, working with multiple reputable clients within the industry. This ambitious company are looking to grow within the next year, with large future goals within the data and analytics space.

You'll be working on a range of greenfield projects Data Engineering, including design/modelling/scripting and development of entire Data Platform solutions. Technologies used include AWS, Python, Lambda and a range of ETL and Dev-ops tools . The current Data team is small, yet efficient with the opportunity to progress quickly as they grow the team over the next year. As a senior you will have the chance to mentor junior colleagues and directly with the head of Data, to support business ideas for the organisation.

Skills & Qualifications (Not all are required)

  • Strong knowledge/hands on experience using AWS, GCP, Azure, Lambda
  • Previous experience in a Dev-Ops environment using Docker, Kenisis, Kubernetes,
  • Coding experience in Python - Scala/Java a bonus
  • Experience with hands on Data Modelling
  • Exposure to Data science/Machine learning tools

This is a salaried position, paying up to £60,000.   • Have a deep understanding of the processes, skills and technologies which are needed to deliver complex development solutions for a business.
  • Understand and have experience working with a variety of delivery methods, such as Agile, Waterfall and Scrum.
  • Experience developing in the cloud with AWS or Snowflake.
  • Understand the process of developing data stores and data warehouses and have hands on experience in doing so in a previous role.
