We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Data Technology Manager within a fast-growing award-winning company dedicated to breathing new life into mobile technology. We recover mobile accessories, devices and IOT type product from our clients which are processed for reuse or recycling.

Your purpose as Data Technology Manager is to define, lead and implement the IT strategy for the Group, with focus on Cloud implementation & internal systems such as Sharepoint as well as ecommerce capabilities. The job holder will also be required to support the day-to-day operations of the Company’s IT functions including Helpdesk and ongoing end user security awareness efforts and participate in monthly ISO task lists to ensure the business is optimally prepared for annual recertifications.

This role will ensure the smooth running of the Genuine Solutions network, but also advises and implements those Data Technology functions which enables the Business to keep moving forward from an IT perspective whilst safeguarding from current threats and Business Continuity issues.

Currently there are approximately 85 people working in the Genuine Solutions Group Surbiton head office with between 85 and 130 helpdesk queries received each month plus multiple Projects happening that require Data Technology input or participation.

The major activities and accountabilities of this role will include:

· Cloud Strategy Implementation

· Management of Sharepoint and related Systems

· Provide 1st/ 2nd line desktop, network, telephone and server, business application support.

· Commit to department efforts around continuous improvement.

· Monthly patch management (Workstations and Servers)

· Accurately log all support calls in the appropriate Helpdesk tracking system (Currently SysAid)

· Ensure Change / Problem / Incident Management procedures are followed.

· Manage weekly vulnerability scanning processes and action recommendations where required.

· Ongoing server capacity management.

· Support remote access workers (RDS / Sonicwall remote VPN)

· Handle network and voice moves and changes including network patching and reprogramming of telephone system and also, assisting with the day to day management of external vendors for data, landlines and mobile cellular devices.

· Configuring and maintaining equipment including PCs, MAC OS, laptops, printers, tablets, iphones etc.

· Work on projects focused on co-ordinating system upgrades, helping identify ways to improve current systems and processes, and testing and evaluating new technologies.

· Help to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA) of Group systems and information assets.

· Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly audit checks as outlined in the Sharepoint database.

· Assist with ongoing management of ISO27001:2013 including internal audits.

· Provide out of hours support when necessary.

· Proactive approach to security of IT systems ensuring all IT best practise policies and procedures are adhered to.

· Liaise with third party managed service providers. (All IaaS vendors)
· Actively contribute to long term strategic planning, design and implementation of new systems and technologies.

Essential

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint Online (Document libraries and lists)

· Advanced Windows 10 OS troubleshooting ability

· Strong understanding and management of ITIL / ISO27001:2013 / GDPR frameworks

· Strong Microsoft Office knowledge including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Experience of on-premise to cloud infrastructure migrations (mostly Microsoft Azure)

· Advanced Administrator knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

· Advanced knowledge of Active Directory (Creating users and security groups, GPO)

· Experience managing domain names (A records, MX records, CNAMe, etc)

· Basic administration of Windows Servers 2012 R2 / 2016

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop administration (Home workers)

· Awareness of Cyber security threats - Trends

· Good TCP/IP Networking knowledge (Test connectivity between devices)

· Landline (IP telephony) support (Cloudcall & Microsoft Teams)

· Audio/Visual support (Meeting room video conferences)

· Printer support and administration (Including working with 3rd party MSP)

· Management of SSL certificates

· Good knowledge of IIS / Firewall (rules and policies)

· Basic network switch configuration

This is a key role within the Data Centre Services group based at Mile End who are responsible for providing a diverse range of services to staff and students.

The successful candidate will lead the team and support the general running of the Data Centre Services group.

The role

You will lead a team of five, manage it and provide third line support to end users and advice to team members. You'll also provide valuable contribution to architectural design helping to create flexible, scalable and future proof technology solutions.

Who you'll be

You should have a degree (or equivalent) in an IT related subject and have experience of systems engineering and team leadership in a modern Data Centre environment covering the majority of the following technical streams;

  • Installation and maintenance of modern server operating systems (particularly Windows Server, CentOS or newer).
  • Shibboleth and UK Federation.
  • IIS and Apache web services.

Queen Mary University London are looking for a bright, motivated and enthusiastic IT Manger/Team Leader with a service oriented ethos to join the Data Centre Services team to help maintain and support essential enterprise IT. This is a key role within the Data Centre Services group based at Mile End who are responsible for providing a diverse range of services to staff and students.

The successful candidate will lead the team and support the general running of the Data Centre Services group.

The role

You will lead a team of five, manage it and provide third line support to end users and advice to team members. You'll also provide valuable contribution to architectural design helping to create flexible, scalable and future proof technology solutions.

Who you'll be

You should have a degree (or equivalent) in an IT related subject and have experience of systems engineering and team leadership in a modern Data Centre environment covering the majority of the following technical streams;

  • Office 365 with an understanding of related protocols.
  • ADFS
  • Active Directory
  • Installation and maintenance of modern server operating systems (particularly Windows Server, CentOS or newer).
  • Shibboleth and UK Federation.
  • IIS and Apache web services.
  • Scripting/programming in at least one language.
  • Databases (particularly SQL Server, MySql and PostgreSQL)
  • A expert understanding of general protocols and standards TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, DNS and other common network protocols and how they relate to services listed above.
  • Experience of Linux would be advantageous.
  • A good working understanding of virtualization (VMware) would be an advantage
