The Middleware Java programmer will create Middleware information solutions to process EDI data by developing, implementing and maintaining Java based components and interfaces. Azure Stack Engineer
Based: Farnborough

Are you an Infrastructure Engineer with a background and passion for Azure administration and are interested in learning, implementing and supporting the newest UK Azure Stack platform?

In this role, you will work collaboratively with internal project and operational teams to deploy and operate the newest Azure Stack Platform providing Cloud services to customers. You will be working closely with Microsoft and Cisco in scaling out the platform and bringing the latest Software As A Service capabilities to the market.

You will be able to understand customer needs, business goals and implement technical solutions to ensure the best levels of performance, service and availability to customers.  Participating in Meet Ups, customer and supplier collaboration are key ways  of working as part of our agile teams.

Essential skills
·Experience of working in an Agile environment.
·Understanding of infrastructure as code, applied with configuration management, automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
·Understanding of programming patterns and constructs. Our main language is PowerShell, but a fundamental understanding and an ability to learn is crucial/critical.
·Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Azure. Windows System administration, filesystem concepts etc.
·Comfortable with PowerShell scripting and the typical variety of PowerShell cmdlets with main focus on Azure PowerShell

Desirable skills
·Operating maintaining and managing cloud infrastructure at scale, ideally Azure Hybrid Cloud
·Demonstrable experience of utilising PowerShell Pester module
·Experience of deploying, maintaining and using container orchestration platforms, such as Service Fabric, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm
·Experience of using source control systems, CI/CD, unit testing. We make use of the Atlassian tool set, including Bitbucket and Bamboo but also GitHub
·Production experience with database technologies. (MySql, MS SQL)
·Understanding of how to monitor Azure based applications.
·Experience of using AzureCLI to deploy workloads to Azure
·Fundamental understanding of networking in Azure.

A public sector client of ours is currently looking for a Migration engineer, the primary focus of this role will be to assist with the design and implementation of a large-scale migration of users (approx. 1500 users), services and applications. There will also be the requirement to provide support for the services and applications within our clients site.

Key responsibilities:
*Provide consultancy and support for the migration of services from our client's research area into a centralised IT delivery model.
*Provide day to day support of systems to include support of Windows, Active Directory, Unix / Linux and research specific applications.
*Responsible for the successful delivery of technical aspects of the migration project within a Service Management framework and in line with the agreed standards and Service Levels.
*Represent changes to the Research environment in Change Advisory Board meetings, daily and weekly Service Review meetings and the Design Authority.
*Responsible for working closely with the other teams within IT to provide an excellent IT Service.
*Responsible for peer reviewing and contributing to proposed Research solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose and provide optimal value for money.
*Responsible for the adoption into service of new solutions ensuring operational suitability.

Key Skills Needed:
*Experience of migration design and execution for services such as Active Directory, Windows File Services, virtual servers, applications and services
*Experience in designing and delivering secure cloud solutions based on Microsoft Azure (IaaS) in an enterprise environment
*Good knowledge of LAMP stack (Linux Apache, MySql, PHP) both from a support and implementation perspective
*ITIL Foundation qualification

*Excellent knowledge of ICT technical standards
*Experience of working with enterprise scale applications, infrastructure and software
*In-depth understanding of complex technical issues
