As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in the overall architecture and design of new and existing features within the database. Responsibilities - Data Architect

• Architect, develop and design new and existing components in a highly scalable platform
• Be the owner of database schema and architecture for software modules and how they interact with other internal and external enterprise applications.
• Design and maintain the multi-tenancy and data security mechanism for the platform.
• Collaborate in the scalability of the architecture by incorporating modern database architecture principles with a SaaS best practices in mind.
• Responsible for the security, performance and scalability of the application from database architecture and an engineering perspective.
• Work closely with development, product management and quality assurance colleagues to build the expected functionality with quality.
• Work closely with DevOps for the optimisation of development life cycle.

Essential Qualifications - Data Architect

• 5+ years experience of architecting Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Excellent understanding of data modelling and data schema design.
• Excellent understanding of SQL and DB queries and tuning.
• Experience in designing database architecture in a Micro Services Architecture based environment.
• Experience in MS Azure Cloud technologies.
• Expert knowledge in data mart and data analysis tools.
• Expert knowledge of MS SQL Server including T-SQL.
• Knowledge in all key components of Cloud, including SaaS, containerisation etc.
• Knowledge of tools such as Power BI.

THE ROLE

If you were to be successful in your application for this Senior Data Developer role your responsibilities would include:

• Modelling and building the Big Query Data Warehouse using SQL and DBT.
• Work closely with the Data Architect and Buisness Analysts to create and maintain the ETL/ELT pipelines, data models and data catalogue as awell as the data modelling standards that enable effective analytics group wide
• Understand and document how source systems work, their underlying data models and logic required in the ETL pipelines in order to build the data warehouse models
• Work across the team to design, build and launch the data assets that deliver the data models

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In order for your application for the Senior Data Developer to be successful you will need;

• Very strong SQL coding ability
• A great knowledge of both ETL and ELT processes and ideally non traditional ETL where custom SQL has to be written
• knowledge of scheduling tools like Git as well as cloud based data environments
• Exposure to or knowledge of DBT would be amazing but it's not that common so not a make or break
• Excellent communication skills and a great underlying knowledge of data warehouses and architectures
