This role is for a Senior Data Engineer to build a data platform using Scala, Spark, AWS and Kafka. You will be in responsible for the design and development of an enterprise data platform.

They were on of the first adopters of a Cloudera Hadoop platform, being moving to a scala/spark architecture and have since moved to AWS and Kafka.

The Role

As the Senior Data Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the development of the next gen data platform.
  • Play a key role in the development of the core data platform, mainly using scala.
  • Take an active role in the team's engineering culture and quality assurance - eg using TDD, code reviews, paired programming etc.
