The Lead Developer / Team Leader  will have a proven track record of developing using JavaScript framworks such as ReactJS and/or AngularJS. As a Team Leader / Lead Developer, you will be part of the IT Leadership Team and have expertise and experience in leadership, development, testing and solution architecture.
 
Core responsibilities
 
  • Take responsibility for the growth and leadership of the team. Ensure that the team is always capable of executing all relevant tasks to deliver agreed solutions. Take responsibility of line management of team members including recruitment and selection of new team members.
  • Leading the planning and execution of development and delivery of each release of one or more products to a high standard. Ensure products are delivered on time, on budget and to quality. Promoting and assuring use of the agreed agile methodologies and tools
  • Support and actively maintain products that are in production. Ensure operational handover to service for day to day running of solutions.
  • Lead on innovation and design by maintaining an awareness of opportunities provided by new technologies and practices to address challenges and enable new ways of working.
  • Maintains a strong relationship with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and expectation management.
 
Requirements
 
  • Proven track record of success in a leadership role with strong skills in people management, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Ideally have, bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate both competence & experience in Agile Software Delivery and Software Product Development.
  • Possess broad and deep knowledge of software development process and practice, including agile methods.
  • Solution Architecture experience, ability to drive product delivery that aligns to an overall enterprise architecture vision.
  • Strong programming and testing ability in one or more common technology stacks. Expertise in Node JS / Angular /React based solutions would be beneficial.
  • Experience in building systems for large scale users, ideally utilising cloud technology and Unix based systems.
  • Good understanding of database technologies, tools, and database design and modelling principles
  • Sound knowledge of technology and tools used in product software development
  • Exceptional written and verbal business communication skills. Stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts
  • Understanding of the principles and practices of software security
