About the role

  • Enhancing our Web Services to our clients and members is a HIGH profile project within and is one of the key projects to be delivered in 2020
  • We want to develop a market leading proposition around providing information to these members
  • This information will sometimes be scheme wide - messages and content that apply to all members - and sometimes member specific (information on their individual pensions savings and benefits)
  • All of this will be delivered by a website - which we are calling 'the member portal'
  • The project lifecycle is from conceptual ideas to an implemented solution
  • The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and ambitious, with a real desire to help us deliver a market-leading web technology solutions (agnostic in nature) to our clients and their members.
  • The candidate will be part of a small focused team of specialists from a range of functions/businesses, including our Business Services Group, to deliver innovative and leading edge technology solutions that provide our clients with new approaches to help educate and engage with scheme members, Trustees and sponsors.
  • This role provides the successful candidate with a range of excellent opportunities to develop their analytical skills and experience whilst interacting with senior representatives across the Group to develop and deliver the web and digital vision being set by the management team. On a day to day basis they will work alongside the Business Service Group and client leads across the Group to ensure that the new technology aligns with our existing platforms and that the solutions meet the needs of our clients and prospects.
  • Important aspects of the role will include manipulating data, writing data extraction scripts, creating 'dummy' data/calculation results to support the modelling and calculation capabilities that we develop. Other attributes will include working with the business requirements developed for the project and documenting technical aspects of the architecture.
  • To assist in the UAT of newly developed functionality is also a key part of the role.
  • As a senior analyst you will be expected to provide support and guidance to the project and any less experienced analysts involved.
  • Working with the project team to create required data sets to support the key functionality within the new web portal. Manipulation of pension's data sets and the ability to create and map data to a common data format is going to be key aspect of this role. Familiarity with ETL processes and design is therefore critical and applicants should be familiar with SQL and SSIS.
  • Throughout the project the Senior Systems Analyst is going to be responsible for the review of all data required to support the functionality and creating the necessary data extracts from a variety of data sources to support the work.
  • Technical documentation, analytical reporting and supporting the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) should be expected.
  • Data sets, derived from the calculation engines of our Administration platform's calculations routines, will need augmented for modelling functionality. Working from calculation specifications applicants should be familiar with Excel in order to generate any additional calculated values that are required in our datasets.

Skills and Knowledge

Desirable

  • Experience of being involved in projects that have developed web sites and web site content.
  • Experience in some of our core pension administration systems (PenScope, Compendia, Altair and Profund) would be preferable.
  • Experience of working directly with clients and business representatives to evaluate their requirements and develop solutions.
