Working as part of the Operations Team, you will undertake a range of administrative and support duties to ensure the smooth running of Citizens Advice Southwark.     

You will need significant experience of administrative work in an office setting, either paid or voluntary, experience in using IT and a commitment to work within the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice Service.

The successful applicant will be experienced in providing administrative support in a busy work environment, including maintaining financial records using Sage or similar software, and using Microsoft office suite of packages, especially excel. You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide cross section of the public, as well as the ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.

The post holder will be required to work between our Peckham, Bermondsey and Walworth offices according to operational needs, and at other locations within the Borough of Southwark.

Closing date: 9.00 am Thursday 19 March 2020.

The Role

The role holder will explore and leverage the Business Operations data across business domains to deliver data solutions and analytic applications that add value to the Network Operations decision-making processes.

Works in collaboration with the Global Data Operations team (part of the Global Chief Data Office - GCDO), to capture, organize, govern and refresh the data required for serving the Analytics applications and ad-hoc insight delivery needs.

Manages the internal stakeholder expectations, coordinates the technical delivery of solution components, assures the efficiency and scalability of the applications developed by the off-shore service delivery teams and monitors and measures the services received against the SLAs.

Responsibilities/Duties

Business as Usual Service Delivery:

  • Manage the service demands and liaise with business stakeholders to verify analytic and insight needs and eliminate ambiguity.
  • Manage Stakeholder expectations by providing achievable timelines for outputs and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction with results.
  • Actively solicit stakeholder feedback for improving the Analytics services.
  • Propose appropriate recommendations for service, process and application improvements and optimization needs based on user/stakeholder feedback.
  • Promote the use of Self-Served analytics and insights delivered via the QlikView, Tableau, Power BI applications/tools)
  • Be part of the CoE for Reporting & Analytics services and assist the Self-Service users, providing guidance on the applications served.
  • Deliver and maintain the standards/principles, and advocate the best practice use of the Self-Service capabilities to ensure the consistency of delivered insights.
  • Liaise with the relevant service teams (e.g. IT, SDC, GCDO ) to resolve any system availability and performance issues.
  • Assure the Quality, Accuracy and Security of any outputs prior to sign-off and release.
  • Ensure all outputs include the terms & conditions clauses.

Application / Project Delivery:

  • Explore the Business Operations data and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and application of advanced Analytics capabilities to deliver data-centric business insights that support business decisions.
  • Facilitate resolution of complexities and simplification of solution options by bringing together business and technical SMEs, Solution Architects and other relevant resources.
  • Manage the delivery of Proof of Concept projects and work with the Analytics and Data Solutions Lead to formulate the business case for any new and innovative products and applications.
  • Work with Analytics & Data Solutions Lead to formulate the product roadmap and the at scale implementation strategy.
  • Manage the transition of implemented products and applications into business as usual service.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Management of Analytics resources to support simultaneous business demands whilst meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Proven ability to solve problems, handle conflicts, anticipate issues/concerns, troubleshoot problems, and proactively institute creative solutions quickly and in detail
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with other dependent functions and departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge and experience working with Databases, BI tools and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, QlikView, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx etc.)

The Role

The role supports the Global Reporting & Analytics service and is responsible for the conceptual and logical Solutions Architecture and Data Modelling needs of a Global Reporting & Analytics service, which include strategic business insights, business intelligence, analytical insights, data science and other business information needs.

Responsibilities/Duties

Business as Usual Service Delivery:

  • Govern the Reporting & Analytic solutions, including the data models utilised for R&A, ensuring that our solutions are aligned with our R&A technology and tools strategy.
  • Work in collaboration with the technical development teams and conceive, design and oversee the development of R&A solutions to meet our customer needs and challenges.
  • Formulate the logical solution architectures by way of mapping the business requirements to data and technical solution components in line with the R&A product strategy.
  • Provide expertise as to how the conceived solution ideas should be built
  • Set the architectural boundaries and ensure the consistency and coherence of all component parts of R&A solutions, assuring the scalability and flexibility of solutions to support current and future requirements.
  • Champion and defend the Data & BI Architecture best practices, standards and principles, and ensure these are met by the technical delivery teams.
  • Facilitate dialogues with Project delivery teams, technical designers and technical developers to ensure that delivered solutions are in line with the set architectural boundaries.
  • Seek advice from the Enterprise Architecture and GCDO (Global Chief Data Office) teams to make sure the R&A solution architectures are aligned to the global enterprise governance, standards and protocols set by those functions.
  • Work closely with Network Operations Analytics & Data Solutions Lead to ensure all solution architecture propositions are fit for purpose and aligned with the strategic vision, even when delivering tactical alternatives.

Application / Project Delivery:

  • Develop Reporting and Analytics as well as Data solution architectures covering the business, information, application and technology dimensions (Technology dimension to be designed in collaboration with the Technology Solutions Architect upon the business approval of the conceptual and logical solution architectures)
  • Ensure the new Data and Analytics solutions are designed for optimal access and usefulness, leveraging existing technologies where possible
  • Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet non-functional requirements such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability
  • Identify technologies to employ based on strategic guidance, performance, service agreements and organizational constraints
  • Create and maintain accurate and complete architectural documents and artefacts

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledgeable in BI Access/Security Control Models and Framework designs
