We are currently recruiting for a Software QA / Test Analyst to join our Ecommerce team based in Letchworth Garden City. This is a full time, permanent position offering a competitive salary plus attractive rewards and benefits.

Autoglym’s growth through our domestic and International Ecommerce channels is a core strategic initiative for the business. Having formed the team in 2018 as a result of the changing market place and the way customers and consumers shop, the focus of the team is to grow Autoglym through our own ecommerce platforms, customer ecommerce channels and online marketplaces worldwide.

As a Software QA / Test Analyst your main responsibilities will include:

Create, maintain and enhance testing processes and documentation for all Autoglym Ecommerce and digital customer facing platforms.

Develop and execute end-to-end tests spanning multiple systems to ensure all scenarios are considered, tested and that the platforms are working as required.

Understand and interpret business processes. Identify and tackle gaps in development documentation.

Where required develop detailed functional specifications, user stories, testing vectors and changes resulting from testing and feed these into the development team.

Be the first point of contact for troubleshooting to identify where program faults are occurring and liaise with the development team to correct.

Assist in the design of the flow of interfaced data through ecommerce systems.

Ensure robust process are in place with inbuilt error checks to prompt timely identification of system issues.

Ensure all digital development is consistent with Altro Group IT, Development, and Security policies.

Attend project meetings to input into process analysis and definition of requirements.

Assist in the development of strategies to improve the maturity of the test/QA discipline within the team, helping to incorporate penetration/security testing, automated regression testing, and code coverage testing.

Communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders from technical staff to business owners on project developments, progress, key timings and testing requirements.

What are we looking for?

Relevant degree or computing/engineering qualification

Able to track transactions in SQL including viewing data in the database, reviewing stored procedures and ensuring the flow of data in the database matches the business process.

Previous experience within a commercial environment handling accuracy of end to end financial information.

Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and other industry standard tools for the purpose of maintaining project and testing documentation.

Able to demonstrate understanding and experience of the processes required in software or website software testing and project delivery

Experience working across multiple functional areas especially in sales, marketing and technical related projects.

Can demonstrate understanding of business processes, including integrations with other business systems.

Experience working on website or web technology projects

Exposure to Magento or other Enterprise Level ecommerce platforms.

Ideally has experience working within an Agile environment, with demonstrable working knowledge of ‘SDLC’, Scrum’ and ‘Kanban’ principles.

Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills working as part of a large team with many stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test companies’ server-side components

• Configure and maintain the project’s development, test and production environments in Azure

• Review and sign-off key technical deliverables to ensure consistency of design and quality across the team

• Develop, maintain and communicate the application architecture, functionality and designs, through presentations, documentation and regular review with the company’s management team

• Manage and resolve any technical issues with server-side applications in a timely manner

• Remain fully abreast of the latest changes in technology, with an emphasis on Azure and anything that will impact our architecture on that platform

• Manage the build process to ensure the reliable and repeatable production of deployable versions of our applications, using best practices such as continuous integration and deployment

• Adhere to the companies programming standards, and participate in their definition and maintenance

• Adhere to the company’s software testing approach using established test environments and defect tracking tools

• Provide input into system documentation, particularly design artefacts, configuration and user help and “how to” guides

The responsibilities of this role may vary from time to time given the small and dynamic nature of the technology team, but the core requirements are those listed above.

Experience & Qualifications

• Seven or more years’ experience with the development of back-end services and client applications using the Microsoft .NET framework

• In-depth knowledge of designing architectures and establishing environments for developing, building, testing and releasing server-side components to hosted cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure

• Experience of developing and launching cloud-based Software as a Service (SAAS) products
