I am currently working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Backend Golang Developer to come in and assist a successful security systems company, using next generation technology with techniques commonly found in computer vision and machine learning.

This role is for 6 Months (with likely extension) and is Outside IR35.

Backend Golang Developer Role

You will be leading a small team in the design and development of backend features, ideally with a background in:

Required skills experience and skills:

  • Golang Development experience in a commercial environment
  • Competent at back-end software development in production environments.
  • Experience with the design and creation of REST API’s in Golang
  • Beneficial if you have experience deploying the backend software to AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Demonstrating, mentoring and helping other engineers with best practice
  • Experience working on greenfield applications
  • Strong communicational skills/ consultative approach

Whilst they are a very established company they have a relatively new and modern engineering department in London. As a result, they can offer you greenfield development and complex problems to solve whilst enjoying a high level of autonomy and influence within the Spotify squads model.

Their SaaS platform is built with a microservices architecture with multiple web/mobile applications built on top. They use Java 11 on the back end and they are leveraging a combination of open source and third-party libraries/frameworks such as Eureka, MongoDB, ElasticSearch and Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Other technologies they use include Kotlin, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, CloudBees, Angular 6/8, TypeScript and many more!

Essential requirements:


- Experience with Java 8 and Java 11

- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases

- Experience with various cloud-based technologies
