Junior Systems Developer required by a growing technology solutions company based in Brentford. This company is quickly expanding and are looking to take on a fresh Systems Developer to their dynamic and motivated team. Joining this company will allow the Junior Systems Developer to gain experience in a range of areas from CCTV and AV solutions to systems automation engaging with clients from both the public and private sector.

If you are a PHP Developer and problem solving, outside the box thinking and experience working on the build of complex systems all form part of your repertoire then I would love to hear from you.

They are essentially a product focused Healthcare SAAS company with a large multi-faceted platform that helps their clients be more efficient. What sets them apart is their approach to their work - they don't rush features, or rush to add features. They are considered in their approach and as a result their developers life a relatively stress free life :)

The culture is, in my opinion, fantastic - The reason I know this... I've placed half a dozen devs, PMs etc with this company, all of whom are still there. Also when I went to meet them all recently I was met with a sea of smiles. The manager is pragmatic, fair, flexible and in my opinion just an all-around legend. They benefit from flexi working, R&D time and an adult working environment (meaning if they need to work from home occasionally they can - no clocking in). They also get paid well and have a lovely office space.

Effectively, as part of the dev team you'll build a headless Symfony based system which is replacing an existing, less modern codebase.

What you'll do:

"You'll be responsible for working on the evolution of the platform, adding well thought out features and improving the functionality and performance of the software.'

  • Write quality code - This is a company who care more about quality than churn
  • Leave code better than you found it (and fully commented)
  • Test code (client or server-side)
  • Take ownership of projects | Present your proposed solutions to the wider team and to non-techies
  • Love problem solving - proactive approach to solving problems
  • Have a desire to learn and grow - Use dedicated R&D time to test and critically review open-source frameworks and technologies

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Significant experience working with PHP - Naturally Symfony experience is preferable although that's not to say other CMSs or frameworks won't be considered!
  • Experience developing APIs
  • Knowledge of both OO and procedural PHP
  • Database knowledge
  • Linux knowledge - you don't need to be a devops engineer but command line and knowledge of tooling would be helpful
  • Any refactoring experience
  • Git (Obvs)

To assist in providing technical support directly to our valued customers. The job will be primarily office-based though you will have occasion to go on site at our client's locations to implement and maintain solutions. The role includes some out of hours support.

This role is based in Shoreham and is paying a salary between £25,000 - £60,000 (doe)
Minday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Principal Responsibilities/Duties
*Centralised technical support for field engineers - providing technical support for incidents and problems, prestaging, configuration of cloud elements etc)
* Owning the resolution of all tickets passing through the support desk - though not necessarily personally resolving them)
* Owning local support processes - DB management, spares holdings, lab builds, escalations etc)
* Out of hours support as part of the on call rota
* Travel to customer's sites and provide support and/or installation services for a wide-ranging set of IT infrastructures
* Provide point of escalation for helpdesk when required
* Assist senior engineers on larger installations and projects

Essential Skills
* Independently motivated
* Keen to learn and able to demonstrate this
* A solid team player
* Great communication
* Self-reliance
* Punctual and responsible with excellent time management
* A native English communicator
* Customer facing
* Cisco Meraki CMNA (demonstrable)
* Cisco Routing and Switching to CCNA (demonstrable)

Desired Skills
Knowledge in any of these areas would be advantageous but not essential.
* Experience with Mac OS X, Linux & Android
* Experience with Cisco firewalls and switches
* Experience with SQL, VOIP, SANS
