The Role

This exciting opportunity has become available due to the growth of the business area, where the team develops, maintains, & supports responsive web applications in line with changing business needs.

The Integration Developer will design, build and maintain ESB infrastructure, artefacts and objects, documentation, unit testing and provide guidance to other team members and business users

Role Responsibilities…

  • Ensure that coding standards are defined and adhered to
  • Create robust best practise development techniques
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements are considered including performance and accessibility considerations
  • Optimise the performance of the code
  • Perform code reviews with junior developers
  • Setup and manage development environments
  • Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to ensure smooth handover of code and ongoing maintenance
  • Work closely with the architecture team to ensure adherence to architectural strategy
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as reporting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Be creative, innovative, pro-active and convincing in terms of finding solutions. 
  • Experience developing software C# .Net, Javascript frameworks (Angular 2+)

What my client are looking for…

  • Experience of developing software using Java is advantageous
  • Experience with any of the following technologies is advantageous Azure (Service Bus, Event Grid, Web Apps, etc), Mulesoft, AnyPoint, BizTalk
  • Ability to pick up and learn existing projects quickly
  • Experience in any financial services industry
  • Self-sufficient and is equally capable of working alone or in a cross functional team
  • Focussed on performance and knows how to get the best out of their code

We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to customers for bespoke software.

You must have experience supporting bespoke software, SQL/Java skills and a passion for customer service. You will love to problem solve, manage client expectations and go the extra mile.

You will be the first point of call to customers with an issue. You will triage, fix if possible, if not you will escalate to the development team and manage the process through to completing and closing the ticket. This is a customer-facing role, which requires daily interaction with customers typically over phone, by email and face to face

Duties will include;

  • Provide remote software application support for customer sites across the UK
  • Able to handle software incidents, conduct detailed problem analysis to find root cause of repeat incidents
  • Contribute to in-depth functional testing for project implementation and enhancements
  • Participate in commissioning and training at customer sites as required
  • Manage monthly incident meetings with client

The following skills would be an advantage but are not essential

  • Strong customer relationship management experience
  • Good knowledge of SQL (T-SQL/PL-SQL)
  • Understanding of ITIL framework, Java EE programming language
  • Comfortable with Linux operating system, knowledge of Unix scripting will be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent incident management skills which involve performing in-depth analysis of issue resolution
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites if required
