A leading FinTech firm in Manchester have released a Lead UX Designer/ Hands on UX Manager role in recent times due to a period of major digital growth. You will get a chance to be the face of the UX team and work in a true Agile team comprising of front-end developers, designers, testers, product owners.

Some of the responsibilities of the Lead UX Designer / UX Manager:

  • Lead 4 UX/UI Designers including previous experience of leading designers
  • Experience of working in a cross functional agile team
  • Be active in terms of upskilling the current team
  • Be a subject matter expert in terms of everything UX and UI
  • Be a challenger, challenge the status quo and the way work is done, whilst bringing in new ideas to the team
  • Confidence, including the ability to break barriers and challenge yourself within the role
  • Remain on top of current trends within UX / UI
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and manage pushback at times!
  • Be focused on delivery, look to take the friction out of UX

So, from an experience point of view, we need someone who has:

  • Significant experience of working as a Senior / Lead UX/UI Designer (in house or agency is fine!)
  • Experience of leading, coaching and motivating designers
  • Proficiency of the Adobe Suite (Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Strong prototyping experience and use of software such as Axure, Framer or InVision
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS would be a bonus
  • A/B testing experience also a bonus
  • Ability to positively challenge stakeholders
  • Be the face of the UX team, the SME of all things UX and UI

There is a flurry of new projects to be working on, so you could safely say that no two days will be similar in this role. Some of the projects involve a new website build, new web app journeys, mobile app development and more.
