Your new company

An exciting opportunity has arisen with an electronics manufacturing company based in Aldershot. They are currently looking for an Infrastructure Manager to work alongside the current IT Manager to help support their HQ. The ideal candidate require knowledge of Windows Server 2012, Cisco, Fortigate, Hyper-V, Desktop Support, Firewalls and Networking. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a great company and utilise your Infrastructure skill set as an all rounder IT professional.

Your new role

Ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the network and other IT systems across all sites in Europe, including European HQ office in Aldershot, small remote satellite offices.

Ensure IT infrastructure is stable across Europe. Support the following operations:

  • Exchange based e-mail system (+ pending upgrade)
  • Maintain, update and build our internal based servers.
  • Manage combination of virtual (Hyper-V) and physical servers.
  • Maintenance of Firewalls across all sites in Europe, including configuration changes and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure Company data is secure and backed-up regularly.
  • Windows and other Microsoft applications as well as hardware, VPN and telecoms issues.
  • Anticipate future enhancements, or replacement of hardware or software, and produce basic cost predictions for business planning and budgetary reasons for the IT Manager.
  • Support in the implementation and maintenance of the Global IT policy and any system changes as requested.
  • Monitor and enforce the IT policy within the Company.
  • Maintain Company data folders and manage Shared Data Policy across the Company.
  • Keep updated records of IT hardware/software status and manage software licensing to comply with the law.
  • Advise employees and management on IT issues and how to utilise IT within their roles (Possibly through some training or otherwise bulletins based on trends observed).
  • Assist the IT Manager and Company to improve efficiency and effectiveness through exploitation of IT
  • Support the procurement of IT and telecoms hardware, software and support services.
  • Any other relevant duties deemed necessary by the IT Manager.
  • Support the initiation of new satellite offices or home offices as and when required.


What you'll need to succeed

Working Knowledge: Essential

  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows10
