UX Prototyping Engineer

Mane Product & Technology are recruiting on behalf of a Global Automotive Company for a UX Prototyping Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to get a foot through the door with one of the most progressive organisations within the automotive industry.

As a UX Prototyping Engineer, you will be responsible for prototype lead on critical parts of their HMI Vehicle Integration portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create prototypes for UX research and validation to support the HMI development process from advanced phase to start of production.

The purpose of software rapid prototyping is to enable the systems engineering teams to rapidly define system functional specifications with a focus on areas of functionality that are new, have a high degree of complexity, or have significant dependencies and/or interactions with other sub-systems inside or outside of the vehicle in collaboration with customer engineering team

Secondary purpose is to provide deeper understanding in the software implementation and to confirm issue and support fault finding.

SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The scope of the position includes defining, implementing, and testing new/updated system functional specifications at customer site.
Also includes analyzing software and providing technical feedback to the vehicle test members on site on issues found.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define system functional specification jointly with customer engineering team
* Analyze assigned SW and system requirements for their design & rapid implementation in the software
* Implement rapid prototype test software as per agreed specification
* Document rapid implementation solution to software development team
* Records & reports on clarifications or possible misunderstandings and/or changes to specifications
* Support system requirement engineer to ensure all changes are documented in change request by customer engineering
* Support system requirement engineer to design test cases to verify SW Requirements

You’ll be working with multiple clients and know how to manage their workloads. You’re not a “yes” human and know where to push back when needed, how to manage their expectations and have strong enough negotiation skills that you know you and your teams worth.

From inception to close - you will be the main point of contact for customers and delivery resources. Being technically savvy will be extremely helpful for this role, as well as a process mapping and software deployment whiz.

You might need to travel across the UK and internationally at times – unfortunately not for fun.

You get a Salary between £30,000.
