Data Architect

Rate: £510 per day

Key roles and responsibilities:

The Data Architect will be an “agent of delivery,” who builds and executes integration opportunities that will capitalize on analytical and data engineering tools for data discovery identification.

The successful candidate will possess strong foundational engineering data science skills, as well as an ability to develop strategic solutions through programming languages and database management systems. They must be able to take a holistic view of a business problem or challenge and work with various technical groups to get the information necessary to develop changes through to production. Responsible for implementing technical direction, applying the appropriate statistical techniques to harness structured and unstructured data, and performing complex data analysis to extract useful information and develop solutions for industrialization within the discovery programme.

Duties

  • Shape the development of data discovery solutions and integration 
  • Drive the design for automated data processes for data discovery and Identify areas to increase efficiency
  • Identify, evaluate and implement services and tools to support data validation and cleansing
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to business flows
  • Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present to senior management
  • Provide quality metrics for benchmarking of data points and produce and track key performance indicators which align to Line of Business Sponsorship
  • Liaise with internal clients to fully understand data content and commercial usage / business opportunity
  • Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Create data dashboards, graphs and visualizations to aid commercial opportunity

Skills & Experience Required

Leadership

  • At least 4 years’ professional experience as a software developer, including leading projects and teams
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams, with an end-to-end view of systems and processes
  • Minimum of 1years Experience leading with agile development methodologies like XP, Kanban or Scrum.
  • Can take the lead with new initiatives and can act a mentor to team members
  • 3-5 years’ experience Building technical plans with a confirmed background in architecture with real-world experience of architecting, designing, and delivering large IT projects

Data Engineering & Integration

  • At least 6 years hands-on experience working in financial services in a technical engineering role
  • Extensive experience in turning data into actionable insights using a variety of programming solutions
  • Experience in Data Architecture and Information Architecture
  • Experience on a variety of database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Cassandra, Mongodb
  • Experience of data analysis and data processing using Java, Python, R, PL/SQL, TSQL, KSQL, CQL, Airflow, Bash, Jupyter Notebooks
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and / or data streaming
  • Experience of version control (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Experience of Data visualisation tools, e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2, Birst, Tableau, Qlik, Grafana
  • Familiar with Agile working practices and methodologies
  • Good experience with enterprise-wide infrastructure technical architectures like Apache Spark, Amazon cloud and Big Data strategies
  • Experience with distributed nature of storing and analyzing data, through programming frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark
  • Solid grasp of basic networking technologies such as HTTP and DNS

Analysis & Design

  • Experience of working with large and complex datasets for the purposes of analysis, and delivering analytics solutions
  • Experience of creating analytics dashboards or reports
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements, and determine appropriate technical solutions

Requirements & Problem solving

  • Experience of producing documentation/specifications for technical solutions
  • Keen to learn and continually develop skillset, collaborate and express ideas to make improvements
  • Demonstrates a passion for using data to solve problems and deliver value
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to logically analyse complex requirements, processes and systems

The position will be working for a multi-million pound organisation that is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst who has previous experience delivering enterprise projects from design to implementation within enterprise infrastructure estates. Ideally the chosen BA will have worked alongside Architects, Information Security, Process Analysts, Delivery a Test teams.

This is a 6 month rolling contract paying £525 per day for Senior IT Business Analyst who has strong experience delivering SaaS solutions within an infrastructure/telecom environment.

Role responsibilities:
The chosen Senior IT Business Analyst will be a key interface between the vendor product/solution, IT change, data/integration teams and the business, to provide effective business analysis outcomes. The role will require an energetic, hands-on approach, with high levels of engagement across other IT system/integration teams, Transformation programme teams and process/data owners within the business. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will work alongside internal and 3rd party design teams during design, build, and test and transition phases. The Analyst will be responsible for eliciting and documenting requirements and their acceptance criteria, ensuring full traceability from requirements, to design, to test.

Core experience for this project:
• A proactive analyst focused on task completion meeting tightly prescribed deadlines.
• Exposure to SaaS environments within IT Infrastructure or Telecoms.
• Understanding of estates management including Electronic Communications Code 2017
• Identify critical system and integration needs to support the new solution implementation.
• Develop an understanding of processes and associated tools and resources that support Sites business groups.
• Elicit, document and manage requirements to support solution design and service operation needs.
• Analyse requirements and package them for phased delivery by a variety of delivery teams.
• Develop and maintain appropriate documentation to support traceability from requirements to design and design to test scripts.

Certifications:
