About the Role

In this role you will provide expertise and leadership for a team of Software Testing professionals in the delivery of e-commerce platforms in the Financial Services domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide testing expertise across the website, mobile applications, web service, cloud service and database technology stack.
  • Review requirements, establish test coverage, produce estimates, track progress and generate summary reports.
  • Produce Test Plans, Test Approach and Test Completion Reports.
  • To work with internal, consultant and contract staff during the solution development lifecycle.
  • To attend meetings as required by the project and delivery managers and SCRUM Masters.
  • To adhere to the agreed standard toolsets.
  • To identify and champion process & strategy improvements across the team.
  • To be a mentor and coach to other colleagues.
  • Work closely with Development & Test Managers to implement appropriate approaches and governance.
  • To provide peer testing reviews.
  • To adhere to all solution development lifecycle methodologies, processes and standards
  • To identify and champion process improvements across the team
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to colleagues.


About You

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience of Software Testing in e-Commerce / Financial Services domain.
  • Solid Experience with an Automation Tools.
  • Demonstrable SQL skills.
  • Experience of working within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Experience of defining test approach & defining test plans.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Exposure to Selenium automation.

Desirable

  • Experience with SoapUI.
  • Experience with a programming language (ideally C#).
  • Agile delivery experience.
  • Experience of VSTS/TFS/Microsoft Test Manager for managing test assets.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced delivery environment.
  • TDD or BDD.

Qualifications

  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation (minimum)

Java Developer, Uxbridge, £45-65K + £5.8K Car Allowance + 10% Bonus + bens. You must have a solid background as a Java developer with Java 8+ and TDD (Test Driven Development), ideally with some XP (extreme programming) or Pair Programming experience.

You'll have to make tough decisions, implement best practice and provide compromises when situations are not ideal. Oh and you'll need to explain that to people. Not just the technical ones. Because we work in product teams where not everyone is a techie. It's fun, you get closer to the business and know more about why we do what we do, not just how.

Our core technologies are React & Java, but (because we're a bit old-skool) we prefer our engineers to be full-stack devs. Coding is coding and the main difference is syntax - right? So were looking for passionate programmers who are comfortable with using a variety of frameworks, languages & tools and who are happy to pick up new skills when the need arises. We know that you will have a go-to language where you can spin up & deploy new applications in a few minutes and where your expertise shines through, but don't be shy about picking up a new skills and knocking out some killer code.
