A large internationally recognised business is looking for a proven Python Developer to join a team developing a new enterprise web application.  

Based from impressive offices in central London, the successful candidate will assist with adapting the core application, developing additional features, optimising the search function of the system as well as customising the solution for several third parties. 

In order to be suitable for this role you must have proven experience building enterprise web solutions (full stack) with strong Python and SQL skills. The ideal candidate will also have some elasticsearch and / or Django exposure, but this is not essential.

This is a pivotal role in a large constantly evolving business - they have plenty of planned enterprise-level projects.

Your new role
You will be part of the Digital Engineering Systems (DES) team that deliver, develop and support product and tools. Be responsible for the support, delivery, on-going success and continuous improvement of digital products or services in the Digital Engineering space. As Product Specialist, working as part of a small team this is an exciting opportunity to build on experience in process excellence in a technical environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A strong knowledge in products and services associated with Digital Engineering and have an excellent understanding of the designer tool set used across various business sectors
  • Experience of CAD and modelling design tools, examples being Bentley MicroStation, AECOsim, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Revit and Infoworks ICM
  • A drive to identify and deliver improvements and new products to meet the demands of the business
  • A resourceful and outgoing individual with an appreciation of UX, business and commercial issues
  • Experience of working with software suppliers and vendors

My client is a known leader in their field, a highly successful software house with an enviable portfolio of customers and an exciting pipeline of greenfield projects. The software & systems they develop are used in extremely high profile, high security environments and require an in-depth level of technical input. They support global police forces, emergency services and operational task forces, protecting the public and ensuring visibility of evidence based data and digital media.

Globally the company has over 6000 employees in 150 countries. They support 25,000 customers including over 80 of the Fortune 100. What does this mean for you?! An opportunity to work with a hugely successful company on big and innovative greenfield projects and play a key role in safeguarding public interests from fraud protection to public safety.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provisioning, deploying, monitoring, patching and upgrading enterprise cloud software
  • Aiding the successful deployment of software packages
  • Supporting the production systems, replication of customer issues on test systems
  • Define and implement health monitoring procedures
  • Participate in a 1 in 4 24/7 out of hours rota (generally low volume)

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of SecOps
  • Experience with Azure
  • CI/CD
  • Experience of supporting web based software provided as a service
  • Scripting in LINQPad, PowerShell or similar
  • Experience administering SQL databases and basic querying
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Client Technology
  • Network Principles - IP addressing, firewall rules, network security groups etc)

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of programming in C#
  • Experience with Postman or Fiddler
  • Understanding of .Net applications
  • Knowledge of Linux applications
