My client, an electronic trading software provider, is hiring for an Application Support Engineer in their Long Island office with a strong Linux Command Line troubleshooting background and exposure to an Object-Oriented Programming language such C++ or Java.

The role is focused on ensuring application availability for clients as well as troubleshooting, mitigating, and resolving production issues and outages.

Candidates must have at least a year of professional IT experience. Experience in financial services, capital markets, investment banks, specifically electronic trading, is highly desirable.

• Publishing periodic reports, discovering patterns, working with infrastructure and development support to influence and prioritise opportunities to improve availability.
• Work amongst a team of individuals who can deliver to this mandate.

The core skills required for this role will be as follows:

• Degree educated in Computer Science or Mathematics.
• Data scientist exposure at any level
• MS Power BI or similar Visualization
• Use of libraries
• Some commercial Python programming
• SPL & No SQL programming awareness highly advantageous but not essential
