NAV Developer

Role: NAV Developer
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £50,000

My client is an organisation within the retail sector, who has just celebrated their 10th birthday and are based in Milton Keynes.

This is a key role to help drive forward the company's growth plan, so it is critical that the post holder has the flexibility to carry out hands-on duties. The individual must be a great communicator, hardworking and energetic to implement changes.

The post-holder will have experience of supporting a multi-site retail and/or e-commerce business within an ERP system. Experience of working in a business with sites throughout Europe would be preferable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Business Analyst to develop new or enhance current functionality based on business requirements and specifications
- Provide support and code fixes of core NAV configuration and third-party customisations
- Provide expertise and guidance to assist in training and building the in-house NAV support and development function
- Support with testing to ensure developments are fit for purpose, and developed to industry best practice
- Assist in ensuring that existing and new customisations are written to facilitate an upgrade path to new Nav versions

Experience needed:
- 3 years' experience with NAV
- Magento and SQL are both highly desirable

This is an exciting and varied opportunity for an experienced Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to join the Business Liaison team in Haringey Council's Digital Services. This team plays a key role enabling Digital Services to deliver technology initiatives to support the Council's transformation programme.
You will build long term relationships with Directorate Senior Management Teams and Priority Leads to understand their strategic objectives. Working with digital and business teams, you will translate those into digital initiatives. Proactively managing demand and shaping initiatives, you will help to maximise the benefits from digital investment. Ultimately, you will be accountable for Directorate customer satisfaction with Digital Services.
You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding Directorates to help them make the most of new or improved digital capabilities whilst ensuring that change readiness is in place. You will ensure that services 'think digitally' in developing their strategic vision.

About you

  • This is not a primarily technical role, but you will have a strong grasp of how technology plays a major part in meeting strategic organisational objectives.
  • You are an experienced BRM or similar (e.g. IT Business Partner) or you may come from a business/technology consulting background or a business functional background with significant technology change experience.
  • You will have the confidence and gravitas to work credibly with some of the most senior stakeholders in the council and be able to work with a diverse stakeholder group in different business contexts. You will use high levels of influence to persuade people to act without having direct managerial control.
  • You can switch with ease between a strategic or operational focus. Broad experience of working in customer facing and/or back-office functions would be helpful.

Desirable qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a relevant professional qualification.

Desirable skills and experience

  • In-depth technical experience in a variety of environments.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists - user researchers, service designers, product owners etc.
  • Familiar with the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation.
