An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Engineer - Computing to join this exciting and growing company within the security industry who are based in Gloucestershire.

The main purpose of this Technical Support Engineer - Computing is to provide 3rd line technical support to UK and export customers related to commissioning and fault finding and be able to recreate problems to enable the development department to apply a fix.

You will also be involved in assisting the Regional Sales and Business Development teams with all required pre-sales technical support for both end-user customers and reseller partners. You will be required to travel within the UK and Internationally at short notice with up to 2 weeks in duration.

Key skills and experience required for Technical Support Engineer - Computing:
* Degree qualified in a Computing / IT / Software development related discipline
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Driven and ambitious individual willing to learn
* Previous customer support experience would be ideal but not essential
* Any knowledge of IT Systems: Microsoft / NEC clusters, MS SQL Databases and MS Operating systems both server and client, would be an advantage

My client are a not-for-profit financial services organisation based in Kings Hill who have recently implemented a new arm to their 80+ IT department in the form of a Technical Services team.

You will be integrated into a growing team who are responsible for the successful delivery of technical solutions that meet all regulatory and compliance requirements. Ideally you will be from a banking/finance background and would have been involved in projects dealing with sensitive data. You will also be tasked with proving, clarifying and defining designs whilst resolving major technical issues along the way to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions and service.

Key Requirements: -

  • Understand business objectives and the wider user community concerned in order to recommend cost-effective and workable solutions
  • Assist with the production of pragmatic, well considered and estimated solutions which meet all end user requirements
  • Work with other IT and business users in the definition and implementation of changes to operational procedures and business process standards
  • To present solutions through clear and concise written proposals, presentations or facilitated sessions helping to explain complex concepts
  • Provide knowledgeable, accessible and professional quality consultancy both within IT and to business domain users, third parties and the board
  • Provide input into application roadmaps and assist in horizon scanning and planning implementation refresh programmes
