I’m currently supporting a client based in Bromsgrove who are looking for a Developer to join a new team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced developer to help shape the digital UX across the organisation.

My client is at an early stage of a big technology roadmap whilst at the same time introducing various new products. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with the lead developer on something new, allowing you to have a real influence on how to implement this roadmap.

Key responsibilities:

  • You’ll be developing the company’s consumer facing websites
  • Developing the authenticated client portal
  • Translating UI/UX concepts and prototypes into code
  • Work very closely with the in-house backend developer
  • Stay up to date with new emerging technologies
  • Ensure all developments are optimised for mobile and speed

The following experience is essential:

  • At least 3 years of Frontend development experience with JQuery, HTML5, CSS3
  • CMS experience – preferably Umbraco
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET, MVC, REST API’s
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with Cloud technologies such as Azure
  • SharePoint development experience

The successful candidate will have the option to also work from their Birmingham office after the probationary period.

IT Trainer & Project Support

Job Purpose:

This is a hybrid role. It comprises two main elements:

* Traditional training: New user inductions, application training, project support training

etc.

* Project Support: Acting as a liaison between our IT Team and our legal staff you will

have a key role in determining user requirements, establishing and improving

workflows and processes, evaluating and developing the use of technology products

across the firm.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Training and support

* New user inductions: Taking new staff through a full IT induction and, as necessary,

creating and presenting material to remediate any deficiencies highlighted at this

time.

* Developing training methods and communications channels to improve training

efficacy

* Training: Developing existing staff skills across third party applications (e.g. MS

Office), in-house applications (e.g. a document automation utility) and themed

topics (e.g. 'Working Remotely'). This will involve approaches including:

o Creation and presentation of online training documentation/materials

o Email bulletins/Advisories

o 1:1 desk-side sessions

o Group-based classroom sessions

o Drop-in clinics

o Multi-session courses

o Floor Walking

* It is expected that your knowledge of major software products will be superlative.

Helpdesk calls that may be escalated to you could include complex formatting

issues within documents or pivot tables within Excel.

* Ensuring through the design and delivery of training, our new joiners and existing

staff are able to get the most from the tools at their disposal.

Project Support

We use a variety of applications; mainstream productivity applications, 3rd party legal sector

specific and in-house developed in response to business needs. A key part of this role involves

* Assisting with project and change management

* Translating business requirements into specifications

* Working with the legal staff to determine how they work and to develop process

maps and workflows

* Establishing how technologies can assist/enable/improve business processes

* Helping with projects in areas such as user acceptance testing and product

design/deployment.

* Being the voice of the user and establishing the training solutions for staff on new

products and upgrades.
