Java Tech Lead

Java Tech Lead - We are looking for a Java Tech lead to come in and define and strategise on various technical releases that to be made throughout the year on a flagship trading platform. Leading a Full Stack team of between 8 and 10 you will oversee Design, development and overall quality of the code. It is a Java team producing a code base made up of Fault-tolerant microservices. As a Java Tech lead you will be collaborating with other Leads in the company in a Cross-functional Agile way.

The team will be using Java 10 in a microservices architecture, working in the Cloud (AWS), and they adopt a DevOps culture.

As a Java Tech Lead you should really be having:

Successful candidate will be responsible for installation and configuration of both existing and new server, network and security infrastructure.

Day to day problem resolution, provide support to the 1 st and 2 nd line support team. The aim here will be to achieve smallest possible down time by application of good ITIL practices, effective communication and problem solving skills.

Main Activities and Tasks

  • Installation and configuration of existing and new servers.
  • Patching of servers, Port hardening
  • Implementation of Network Access Control (HP Aruba) for both wired and Wireless infrastructure
  • Configuration and maintenance of URL Filtering solution
  • Configuration and maintenance of the firewalls
  • Maintenance of the DIA and MPLS network and the related infrastructure. Regular networking monitoring to spot the hot points and remediate them.
  • Maintain the AV infrastructure backbone.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.

The above list of duties is not exhaustive and is subject to change. The post holder may be required to undertake others duties within the scope and grading of the post.
