The successful candidate will join the recently established Engineering & DevOps team, a group of highly skilled software engineers who partner with the firms development, support and infrastructure groups to solve engineering problems that cut across different product streams.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical advocacy across disciplines, including development, operations and infrastructure
  • Technical leadership and direction for Python projects
  • Provide guidance on how the firm can embrace a "DevOps" culture with a focus on continuous improvement, automation and resiliency
  • Architect a framework to capture metrics from their application stack in order to further understand the trading engines and related systems
  • Design and implement an extensible platform to continually monitor the health of their application stack capable of identifying issues in real-time
  • Aggressively modernise the deployment of their trading platform, utilising modern innovations to replace bespoke solutions

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong Python knowledge, including build tooling and testing
  • Good knowledge of automation. Working with teams to reduce manual workloads
  • Proficiency in Java, capable of writing testable / efficient code
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies (GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Linux/Unix-based operating systems and familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation / configuration management technologies (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

  • Experience with automated testing particularly at the functional and integration level
