What you will be doing

As Software Engineer, you will work in a design for manufacture environment on a range of new products, with the opportunity to participate in the complete software product development lifecycle from design, through development and verification).

  • The role focuses on programming in Java. C# and .Net
  • Translating customer needs into software requirements
  • Web and cloud,  Tablet and mobile and PC applications development
  • Documenting the development process from requirements capture through to verification and release

About You

You should be/have:

  • Software Programming in Java preferred or (C# or .NET experience also considered)
  • Exposure to (HTML, CSS and PHP) is desirable
  • Experience developing web and desktop applications. Mobile app development experience is desirable
  • Have good backend and frontend experience
  • New Product Development experience
  • Object-Oriented programming
  • Software design and documentation using UML and Doxygen
  • Wired and wireless communication protocols
  • Data processing algorithms development
  • Software configuration and revision control using Jira, Subversion and GIT
  • Debugging, test and verification
  • Degree qualified in computer science related subjects
  • Commercial experience in software development
  • All industry backgrounds considered

We are currently looking for Software Engineers with strong experience with C / C++ for a global provider of telecoms, cyber security and government infrastructure products and services that specialise in high performance data communications technologies.

They develop, manufacture and support systems and applications that generate revenue, keep critical infrastructure operational and important data safe.

This organisation work with some of the worlds largest network operators and data centre warehouses to provide highly scalable network visibility tools for incident response, traffic capture and threat detection in real time, at scale, in networks running at multiples of 100Gbps

The C / C++ Software Engineer will work within one of their high performing teams. They will design, build and maintain efficient and reliable code, and develop robust and reliable software components and systems.

Please note: Due to the nature of the projects you will be working on this role requires you to be eligible for SC level clearance

Essential Skills/Background:
- Strong programming skills in C / C++
- Experience with Python and Scripting languages (such as Bash, Perl and Shell) would be advantageous
- Good understanding of system architecture philosophies
- Comfortable writing design documentation and understanding the use of message sequence charts and speciation and description languages
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems
