This fast-growing software organisation is seeking a C++ software engineer with the ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese.

The software engineer will be joining a UK-based Agile software engineering team and collaborating with the wider team situated in Shenzhen, China. This business develops innovative technology that is re-inventing education across the globe. This is a full-stack C++ software engineering position where you will work across the entire software development lifecycle. You will also be the key liaison between the UK team and the team in China. This will mean communicating via confluence tools and translating during team meetings held over video and the telephone.

The ideal software engineer will have experience with C++ and Qt but we will consider candidates with other OO programming backgrounds, such as Java, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, C# etc. Most importantly, you will be able to communicate clearly and confidently in Mandarin Chinese.

  • Carrying out routine maintenance to the building, plant and equipment
  • Fault diagnose on both mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Order parts and ensure there is suitable amounts of spares available to carry out planned and reactive maintenance
  • Complete Method statements and Risk Assessments and ensure that all Health, Safety and compliance policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working overtime

Personal Requirements

  • City and Guilds 236 part 1 &2 or equivalent
  • 18th Edition
  • Previous critical environment experience
  • 5 years plus experience in Mechanical and Electrical maintenance
  • Health and safety certification such as IOSH is Desirable
