Currently recruiting for a rapidly expanding engineering company based in Reading who are now looking to recruit a Machine Learning Engineer with a keen interest in AI, Computer Vision or classic Machine Learning algorithms to work on their latest security products.

The successful PLC Software Engineer will have a demonstrable track record in writing Siemens PLC software for special purpose machinery. The client offers the chance to work on a variety of bespoke machine applications in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Key technical areas of interest include;

  • PLC programming experience with Siemens TIA Portal (the ability to program from scratch is preferred but candidates with good code enhancement/modification experience could also be suitable)
  • Ideally have good understanding of safety circuits (safety relays, failsafe PLCs)

PLC Software Engineers with experience of the following will be considered favourably;

  • Robot cell knowledge
  • Setup and optimise servo/inverter drives using Siemens Starter Tool
  • Technical documentation writing skills
  • Good understanding of electrical standards for machinery design (e.g. EN 60204)

You’ll also be involved in full machine commissioning from power-up right through to completion as well as final machine commissioning at customer sites (mainly UK). The client estimates approximately 4-6 weeks/year will be spent on sites throughout the year. A 12 week job for them in the workshop may take 2-3 days onsite to commission for example.
