Key Job Functions

1st and 2nd line support trading room systems infrastructure

  • To be able to quickly identify and resolve most trading systems and application issues

Desktop and Server hardware and software build

  • Maintain automated build for workstations and Citrix VDI images
  • Administration, configuration and support of workstation and server infrastructure.
  • To have a very good knowledge of infrastructure and to be able to support and enhance that infrastructure using industry standard management tools.

Administration, configuration and support of trading and operations applications.

  • Maintain high availability production environment.
  • Administration and support of the workstation and server environment at business continuity site.

Deliverable:

  • Ensure that the workstation and server environment is fully operational and ready for use 24/7
  • Workstation patching, test and deploy patches to ensure stability of environment

 Responsibility and Authority

 In conjunction with the Distributed Systems Director

  •  Administrative and change management decisions in relation to the support of trading room systems infrastructure

Work collaboratively as an integrated member of the team defining and implementing the team’s automated testing strategy, you will be an excellent hands on QA with an in depth knowledge of developing and maintaining automated tests, with design principles and writing clean code to create framework from scratch. Using Use a variety of tools and languages to create maintainable and reliable automate tests at the appropriate level in saying this you will get the chance to work with (Splunk, CodedUI, RabbitMQ, WebSockets, Octopus and many more).

Experience

• Experience in developing and testing software using Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQL Server, Windows)

• Basic understanding of practical networking concepts (TCP/IP) and virtualised environments

• A passion to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and overall quality of the product

• A strong foundation in testing enterprise software systems

• Understanding of testing concepts, methodologies and processes

What you'll need to succeed

Cyber security professionals play a critical and ever-increasing role in protecting these services and systems, safeguarding our customers as they travel across the capital’s network, and ultimately helping to realise the Government’s ambition to make the UK the safest place in the world to be online and do business.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with Information Technology and be able to demonstrate their ability to rise to new challenges and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in cyber security is essential.

This role is for a Cyber Security and Information Security Risk Advisor therefore candidates must have strong experience undertaking this type of role, be able to undertake those responsibilities described below and demonstrate the desired skills and qualifications. Candidates who are unable to meet the responsibilities of the role will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations focused
  • Provide cyber security technical support and advice to risk owners
  • Supporting risk owners in understanding information and cyber security assurance evidence received from their supply chain Adviser only, not responsible for managing security aspects of a service on behalf of risk owners

Skills:

  • A demonstrable passion for Cyber Security
  • A detailed and proven understanding of network infrastructure, system and application architecture and associated security controls within highly complex environments
  • Experience in public cloud application hosting, mobile and web application security
  • Proven understanding of current best practise approach to security assurance and the application of security frameworks (E.g. NCSC 10 Steps to Security, CIS 20 Critical Controls, NIST, ISO27001)
  • Experience in project and development methodologies covering; architecture pattern development, requirements analysis, design review and project risk assessment
  • Planning and prioritising multiple project work streams in response to rapidly developing and changing portfolios Turning business problems into optimal technical security designs, aligning user needs with systems requirements and organisational goals
  • Experience of supplier and third-party risk management
  • Capable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how decisions have been reached and the ability to understand and resolve technical disputes across varying levels of complexity and risk Highly effective written and verbal communications skills
