  • At least 1 years' experience within a data analyst, sales analyst, MI analyst, analytical role is essential
  • Excellent Excel skills, including V-Lookups, Sum-ifs and Pivot tables
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Excellent numerical ability with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to follow instructions whilst working to own initiative

The role reports into the Senior Project Manager and the team is part of the Projects and Innovation Group responsible for delivering major IT business solutions across all services of the Authority. The post holder will typically be assigned full-time to the management of a major corporate business solution but on other occasions may be managing several concurrent smaller solutions.

Delivery activities will include stakeholder engagement, business analysis, project management, procurement, solutions implementation, systems integration and major upgrades. PRINCE 2 is the basis of the project management processes used. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the promotion and deployment of PRINCE 2 principles across the IT service and in projects that they are delivering. Project Managers are generally based in the Project Delivery Team area within IT & Digital but will temporarily be situated in other locations and work within other services when this will assist the efficient running of the project.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • PRINCE2 qualified practitioner and competent in its use
  • Ability to run concurrent projects
  • Previous local authority experience would be useful, but not essential
  • Able to build good working relationships quickly
  • Projects are likely to be centred around line of business applications rather than infrastructure
  • Experienced in securing scarce resources from resource managers
  • Experienced in matrix management of resources
  • Able to work flexibly in terms of working hours and location
