Responsibilities of the role:

  • Discovery and design, taking the requirements and designing an Azure based system to satisfy the user needs.
  • Functional Specification/Technical Specification/Design Document writing/review as appropriate, agreement and sign-off for scope and change purposes.
  • Estimating/Planning support - It is the responsibility of the developer to ensure that estimates of technical work packages are accurate, including estimation of technical lead time requirements.
  • Technical Responsibility. Depending upon the size of the project, the role may be responsible for all technical aspects of a project, from inception to delivery.

Essential:

  • Able to undertake and successfully gain SC level security clearance checks.
  • Successfully defining and delivering Azure-based solutions
  • In depth knowledge of the .net framework and C# programming language
  • Web Technologies HTML, ASP.net Web forms, MVC, Web API
  • Experience crafting development documentation and user guides
  • Experience delivering projects using AGILE methodologies
  • Building solutions using OOD and design patterns for enterprise
  • Interpersonal skills enabling to articulate complex concepts to colleagues and clients.
  • Old ASP/Desktop apps experience

Initially, the project will be WPF heavy but looking at the pipeline there is good scope to work on both desktop and web applications.

* Leading and managing a team of Regional Compliance Managers, Field Managers and Planners.
* Responsible for managing teams to regional service and compliance targets - speed of service, standard/ next day, claims & enquiries and ETA etc.
* Responsible for regional budget and controls - courier fees, contractor spends, adhoc payments, team expenses & overrides.
* Maximise service coverage of Courier deliveries and collections within the region.
* Responsible for Courier Recruitment within the region.
* Install and maintain regular meetings with the team reviewing performance and creating action plans to improve or resolve problems to achieve key targets.
* Review and appraise the performance and development of team members, in line with our clients policies and identify training requirements to the Divisional Managers for succession planning.

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active thinker with the ability to forward plan and create strategic action plans, adapting to network changes and enhancements. You will need to be a strong motivator who can support, coach and lead the teams to drive business strategies as well as personal performance. Help them strive to be the best they can be! The role requires you to have a current driving licence and, at times, can mean long unsociable hours so staying away from home may be required.

Finally you will have extensive management experience within the Express Parcels, Courier or Logistics / 3PL marketplace.
