We are a well established, St Neots based manufacturer of precision instrumentation. Due to retirement, we have a vacancy in our team for an experienced Sales Engineer/Technical Support Representative who will deal with technical enquiries from our customers and provide them with quotations and other information they require. About the Role

We now have an excellent opportunity for a CAE Systems Administrator to contribute to the continued development of engineering design systems through providing, maintaining and developing hardware and software tools.

You will join Diamond at a time of growth and development in a challenging but rewarding role, with an opportunity to further develop your technical skills and progress your career. Diamond is currently planning a major upgrade of the facility, known as Diamond-II, which will generate an even more brilliant light source at a higher energy, and this role will play a part in the upgrade.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support for all CAE Systems in both 2D and 3D disciplines including ongoing systems development and upgrades.;
  • Day-to-day CAD data management and support within PTC CREO, Autodesk, Windchill & Zuken environments;
  • Playing a key role in training setup with involvement in application evaluation and testing for future upgrades;
  • Maintaining and ensuring effective running of mechanical and electrical applications and databases;
  • Providing end user support and new design staff system introductions for PTC & Autodesk Products;
  • Assisting with completion of system hardware and software upgrades and new system configurations and implementations.

The role will require you to work closely with Engineering Design staff, which is made up of Mechanical, Electrical and Project Engineers, Designers and other staff involved with CAD/CAE applications.

About You

This role may suit somebody from a Systems Engineering, Mechatronics or IT background, with a strong desire to learn and develop.

You will hold a degree in a CAE related discipline or demonstrate equivalent experience.

You will have experience of providing daily technical support in an engineering environment, along with experience of developing software and hardware tools.

You will demonstrate excellent IT skills including Microsoft Windows, Windows Server and Microsoft Office 2010/2016.

Working knowledge of CAD processes and data management will be beneficial, as will an understanding of CAD integration with embedded applications.

Any exposure to PTC CREO, PTC PDMLink and AutoCAD FEA (Ansys)/ CAM/3D Printing is desirable.

You will display strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
