IT Assistant Main Purpose of Position:

The IT Assistant is accountable to manage & support services in all IT Infrastructure & workplace service areas – Service Desk, workplace services, mobility, network, platforms, data centres & security for the client site at UK, Hook.

The IT Assistant supports the service delivery of local, regional & global service providers, ensures services out of the scope of the global service partners & support the Site Service Leader in the IT Service Management - Service Delivery, Service Operation & Service Transition.

The IT Assistant ensures local IT operation & workplace services provided to the site according to the client Enterprise Technology Service standards by partnering with the global TechOps IT service towers & Business IT. They will support the Infrastructure as well as Business IT projects & has a broad understanding of the IT Infrastructure & cloud service landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, manages & supports IT infrastructure & workplace service provided to the site.
  • Ensures local IT support & IT operations as well as fast & professional problem handling including the management of internal & external service providers
  • Manages & coordinates user on/off-boarding
  • Purchases & manages IT assets & inventories.
  • Controls cost & manages costs according to P2P policies
  • Co-ordinates, plans & supports local IT infrastructure activities & projects
  • Support continuously IT service management improvement
  • Effective business partnering with other Business IT departments to support them in IT infrastructure requirements & implementations.
IT Assistant Experiences & Knowledge

Essential:

Our client, the UK's leading provider of IT solutions and services is looking to hire an SAP Expert/Consultant.

The SAP Expert/Consultant role encompasses a high-level solution optioneering and design exercise to evaluate options for implementing SAP for the business. This project will involve delivering a new SAP solution within the next 16-20 months.

This is a 3 month contract that will be paid through a PAYE or Umbrella company.

Main responsibilities:

  • Escalation point for Level 1 engineers
  • Aid in the resolution of Major incidents
  • Assure regular and timely response based on customer SLAs to email and telephone assistance requests
  • Build partnerships with users by regularly demonstrating expertise and professionalism, work with internal and external resources to resolve issues quickly
  • Develop and document procedures/technical resolution as part of building a training library, highlighting training requirements for the team
  • Monitor, update, escalate and close tickets assigned to personal queue
  • Provide detailed technical troubleshooting notes
  • Process overflow calls during periods of high demand

  • At least two years' experience in a similar role
